Stapler received today, loaded it up and started stapling. Same noise level as Swingline 45 Pro stapler, and no different than any other mid-duty electric staplers I've owned in the past. I noticed that the two side staple storage trays people have mentioned in earlier reviews don't exist anymore. Must be in a now collector's prior version of this staple, and shown in the 6 year old YouTube video show ability to store 2 full staple refills inside the machine. Store trays are gone now, and inside the machine the plastic black housing is flat surfaced to prevent any stapes storing. OK by me as long the stapler doesn't jam. I was hesitant to purchase this machine because of the "crown" staples that I thought were going to be a pain to keep separate refill box with these "special" staples. However, the crown design isn't too high and left me pondering using them in a regular Swingline 747 stapler. Investigated and discovered crown staples are slightly narrower than plain ordinary 1/4" staples and don't fit in my Swingline 747 manual stapler. In fact, the crown ones fit snugly between the tines of ordinary staples. How's that for TMI minutiae you didn't know you you didn't know :-) That means more staples to store. Oh well... One suggestion I have for the Bostich engineers in their next version update is to add capacity for 3/8" staples to staple in the 60 to 70 page range. OR perhaps there's already a secret link on Bostich website to order 3/8" staples? I haven't explored their website yet. Point of reference for Bostich staplers and me is the model B300HDS manual heavy duty stapler that I bought in 1978. It's still working just dandy, almost beastly in its lasting 47 years stapling tax return sets. If this new B8 Impulse 45 works like my B300HDS, I'll be using it when I'm 117 years old.... As I wrote at the start of my review: buy this one for your office. Does the staple close so it doesn't catch on other papers with staples in them.** A: I owned 1 of these for years. It staples neat and clean on 1 page or 40.I only used the Bostitch premium crown staples and never had any problem.After about 8 years of use the stapler started shooting out a staple every couple of hours so I don't use it anymore. I am thinking of buying another stapler so I will probably buy another one just like it. The work environment I am in is not quiet either though. **Q: how do you load staples in B8E electric stapler?** A: NOTE: I was puzzled by this same question, trying to use this B8E electric stapler at my school. The stapler was jammed with STANDARD staples so that when the big top button was pushed, nothing moved. Had to unscrew and remove the overall cover to see what was happening, pull the slide out and remove the staples. Standard staples are too wide, but close enough that someone unfamiliar may not notice. Stuck a big note on the stapler to tell others "USE ONLY B8 STAPLES." This problem may mystify those who do not have jammed staplers, since the staple magazine pops out when the button is pushed - unless jammed with Standard staples. **Q: Can you use standard staples or just the 1/4 B8 Power Crown Staples? It's worth the price. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Bostitch came through !!! *by R***K on December 19, 2016* Some have commented that it is loud when used. We use it regularly and yes you can hear it but it's not like what's been described by others to us. We've not had even one failure using it. Would buy again if needed. As of about a month ago, the stapler failed at times, failed completely at other times and sometimes when you're not even near it - it goes off. I contacted Bostitch and I printed out a return form and mailed it to them. It's now been over a month and NO contact from Bostitch. This item was purchased in March 12, 2018, so it was in service about 5 MONTHS and cost $47.89. There had been NO damage to it. If Bostitch does not respond I will change this review to "Completely unacceptable" as it didn't even last 6 months. Waiting???? WELL the wait is over! While I had received no communication from Bostitch, yesterday (10-03-2018) I received a package in the mail. Bostitch has send me a replacement stapler!!! This one is a little different in design/shape and it has been plugged in and it's working as it should. Hopefully all will go well!! Bostitch is to be commended for their follow through and I appreciate it VERY much. Up grading my rating to 5 stars due to Bostitch's response. They did listen.
