Review: I recently installed the BAMF 2 Way Coaxial Cable Splitter, and I am thoroughly impressed with its performance. The setup was incredibly simple; it took just a few minutes to connect everything. Right away, I noticed an improvement in the signal strength for both my TV and internet. The splitter delivers a clear and consistent signal without any noticeable loss in quality, which is crucial for my streaming and work-from-home needs. The build quality of this splitter is exceptional. It feels solid and well-made, much sturdier than other splitters I've used in the past. The bi-directional feature is a major plus, allowing for seamless data transmission in both directions. This has been particularly beneficial for my MoCA network setup, as it ensures reliable communication between my router and various devices throughout the house. I appreciate that the BAMF splitter is compatible with RG6 cables, making it versatile and easy to integrate into my existing setup. The range of 5-2300MHz covers all my needs, from TV and internet to MoCA. It has proven to be a reliable and efficient solution, providing a stable connection for all my devices. Overall, the BAMF 2 Way Coaxial Cable Splitter has exceeded my expectations. Its high-quality construction, ease of installation, and excellent performance make it a standout product. I highly recommend it to anyone in need of a reliable coaxial splitter for their home network.
Review: I recently discontinued my Dish Network Satellite service ($95/monthly) to save some money. I enjoyed Dish Satellite, but not the cost for service. It was not an easy decision because I was a satisfied customer of Dish for many years. I disconnected the coax cables from the Satellite, which serviced two Dish receivers, and needed a way to connect them to my outside (over-the-air) digital TV antenna. The BAMF coaxial cable splitter worked perfectly. I live in the central valley of California, just south of Stockton and my over-the-air TV antenna picks up all of the major network channels (ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, CW, PBS, etc.) in full HD. The stations come in clear, and as good or better than Satellite. One word of caution though, you should test your over-the-air TV reception before you decide to cancel any cable/satellite service. I purchased an inexpensive digital indoor/outdoor antenna and tested my reception before cancelling my Satellite service. The digital antenna picked up 20 stations, which included the a fore mentioned network channels, so I knew what to expect. To my surprise, when I connected the coax cables to my outside digital roof TV antenna (using the BAMF splitter), I was able to tune in over 70 over-the-air channels. I didn't know that many existed in this area. I also purchased a Channel Master DVR+ which has the ability to record two over-the-air TV channels at the same time (a one time purchase, with no subscription fees). It works very much like my old Dish DVR. We only record shows on our downstairs TV so the Channel Master DVR+ was perfect for us. We can watch the shows live on our upstairs TV, which doesn't have the Channel Master connected to it. Also, you have the option to purchase the Channel Master with a 1TB hard drive already built in or you can purchase it without the hard drive, and buy your own. We purchased a separate 3TB Seagate HD and connected it to the Channel Master DVR+ which worked out perfectly for us. Additionally, I purchased an desertcart Fire TV Stick (also a one time purchase) which allows selected viewing for pay-per-view, and some free cable TV shows. I am a Playstation member, so I was able to download PS Vue ($30/monthly), to the desertcart Fire TV Stick which is connected to my TV downstairs, and am now able to receive nearly all the same Satellite channels (via my Wi-Fi) I had received with Dish Network. You can choose which programs you want recorded (as many as you want) and they are saved in the PS Cloud for about a month. The PS Vue receives its signal via our Wi-Fi. I reduced my expenses from $95/month to $30/monthly, a savings of $65/month ($780/year savings). Here's a partial list of my PS Vue channels; CBS, AMC, Brovo, CMT, CNN, Discovery Channel, Discovery Family, Disney (3 channels), DIY, E, ESPN, ESPN2, Esquire, Food Network, FOX Business, FOX News Channel, FS1, FS2, FX, FXX, HGTV, HLN, Investigation Discovery, MSNBC, MTV, MTV2, National Geographic, NBC Sports Network, Nick Jr, Nickelodeon, OWN, Oxygen, Spike, SYFY, TLC, TNT, Travel Channel, Tru TV, TV Land, USA, VH1, and We TV. On-demand channels include ABC, FOX & NBC. PS Vue has other program options which offer more channels for more money, but I chose the lowest program cost because it has nearly all the channels I previously had with Dish. The only one I really miss is the History Channel, which is not currently available with the PS Vue. The desertcart Fire TV Stick has the History Channel, with some of it's shows being free like "Alone", but you have to pay a fee to watch "Vikings." The bottom line is that if you want to be free from the high cable/satellite fees, you need to check your over-the-air TV reception using a digital TV antenna first, just to be sure you receive a clear signal of over-the-air TV channels. If you already have coax cables running through your home you will need a coax cable splitter like the BAMF. Splitters typically come in two, three, four coax cable outputs. I only have two TV's so, I used the 2-way splitter. You also want to be sure you have a good high speed Wi-Fi connection which is required for the PS Vue, and desertcart Fire TV Stick. Do your homework first before making the decision to transition to an over-the-air TV antenna. If you only watch network shows like ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, CW, and Public TV, then you don't really need PS Vue type programming or the desertcart Fire TV Stick. If you only watch live TV, then you don't even need the Channel Master DVR+. How much you want to save is up to you. If you don't have good over-the-air TV antenna reception, then unfortunately, you're stuck with cable or satellite services. Our one time expenses were for the Channel Master DVR+, a Seagate 3TB hard drive, and the desertcart Fire TV Stick. Given my $780/year savings by cutting Satellite TV, these one time expenses will pay for themselves in less than a year. Good luck and happy viewing. I hope this long explanation was helpful.
