You can use a little or a lot, depending on the look you want. It has a rough textured feel when dry, which could be nice for some projects. I used it to refinish a vanity counter, and the photos attached show the gray in full coverage without top coat, with the last one after a heavy clear coat. It's really nice with all the speckles. Gray base with black and white specks. I used two cans total. Short bursts with a sweeping motion worked best. I just sprayed until I got the thickness and pattern I wanted.
