Lost Ocean: 36 Postcards to Color and Send

I am so impressed with this set of postcards - the art/illustrations are so beautifully done - very unique, imaginative and whimsical. I got these as a gift for my mom because she loves to color and create cards to send to others - the art on these reminded me of illustrations from children's books she would read to us as kids and also her own artistic style, I'm excited to see what she thinks, but I know she will love them!I'm excited to get the other postcards and books with different themes created by this artist!

Rather than just coloring pages in a book and never looking at them again, I really like that this postcard book encourages me to connect with people. The only thing is that it feels like all the drawings are meant for a bigger book size and have simply been shrunk down. The spaces are so tiny I wasn't able to color them in accurately without constantly sharpening my pencils, causing their leads to break... I ended up buying more expensive colored pencils.

I love all things Basford. Some have complained about the size of the drawings. However, one must expect they will be smaller. They are post card size! I enjoy coloring these “tiny” Basford treasures. The card stock is sturdy, and they look and feel quality made. I love sending them to fellow Basford lovers.Nothing to disappoint here!

I picked these up for a summer camp working as a counselor! It was awesome to send to the kids in camp mail to give them something fun to color in free time!! LOVED them!!

Great bookPros: nice size for hour long coloring sessions, color lays down smoothly, good mix of intricate and moderate patterns, charming whimsical designs, good for non-artists too, postcard size is portable and you can actually use them as informal thank you/birthday etc cardsCons: there are a few weird pages. The first one in the attached photo looks like a row of sex toys and was a hoot to color, some of the intricate patterns are so tiny that anything short of the pricey needle tipped pens (even the gel pens were too big,) will look messy, pens can smudge on the paper

Pretty, tiny lines, you need sharp pencils, but they turn out great.

The illustrations are very unique and creative and i love the idea of coloring your post cards, however, they are small prints of the bigger versions of the illustrations in the book so ther are tiny and hard to color.I wish they would have designed the post cards with that in mind.
