The lines are thin and since I used mine on a glass bookcase door, I can’t say for sure that they give enough open space to see someone on the porch in their entirety. The transparent portions are very small areas. We had a see through - front to back- vesta before we put on front door window. Works a treat. Suffuses light but not images. **Q: Are the measurements L by W?** A: In my experience, the first number is the width of the roll and the second is the length of the roll. So, a 23x72 roll would be 23” wide and 72” long.
