So far it is AMAZING!
I had terrible sciatica and was doing a bunch of exercises and stretches to help it. I had started doing the Bhujangasana (Cobra) yoga pose as instructed by some online and it really helped better than most other things I had tried. I had seen the Solidback stretcher before and was very interested but I have a foam roller and a Ma roller already so I held off on purchasing it. The foam roller was definitely too big but I thought it helped a little. When I had success with the Cobra pose it occurred to me that the Solidback stretcher seemed like it was kind of putting the spine in the same position so I figured I would try it. I have been using it for about 10-15 minutes at a time around 4-5 times a day and it has already helped more than anything I have tried in many months. I have been putting it behind my back when I sit and that seems to help a little too. At first, I wasn't sure because while the sciatica pain had seemed to go away there was an odd pressure closer to my middle lower back as if something had moved. I walked and did some other exercises and once I adapted to it the pressure seemed to diminish greatly and so far no sciatica pain. I do hair for a living so I am hoping it will help as I return to work after being in the Covic SIP for so long. I am going to bring the Solidback stretcher with me to the salon just to be safe. I have been using it on my bed and that is easier than a hard surface and I highly recommend you use it that way in the beginning. They suggest that in the instructions. Be careful getting on it and off of it so your spine has time to adjust. I do the Cobra pose for 15 minutes before I use the stretcher and the combo seems like the nearest thing to a cure I have found. I also recommend that you do core exercises too as that definitely helps as well. Stomach vacuums work well, are easy to do anytime and anywhere, and don't stress your back. Even though I wad doing all of those other things for my sciatica the one thing that seemed to make the biggest change for the better was adding the Solidback stretcher. I could not be happier with this purchase.

My back cracked like an accordion
I was skeptical. But it works. It's not a fix-all, it's not a cure. But it is excellent for those deep stretches that help with back pain. My most favorite thing about it is there is a groove for your spine. So often foam rollers hurt my backbone, but this actually takes it into account. Shipping took a while. But it was worth the wait.

Back pain
I’ve just started using this so I’m unsure just how effective it will be but I do like how my back feels while I’m using it and after. Worth the money.

Life changing for those with lower back pain
Update 12/19/24: I just returned from a three month international trip, and this is the first thing that goes in my roll aboard. After more than four years, I still use it every day, and it helps undo the damage that a different bed every few days causes. It’s still in perfect condition and still is the single most valuable thing I ever purchased on Amazon. What I’m really doing is tilting my pelvis, and it completely removes my SI joint pain until I do something to mess it up again (usually in my sleep). Updated 10/18/22: It’s been two years and I still use this device daily. I literally get up in the morning and immediately get on the floor to use it. The pain that I cause myself by sleeping on my stomach is immediately relieved. The device still in perfect condition. I think this is the most useful thing I have ever purchased from Amazon (and that’s saying something). I don’t travel anywhere without it in my suitcase. I have Degenerative Disc Disease and a family history of lower back issues. I’ve gone to a chiropractor periodically since I was 18 years old, and have monthly 90-minute deep tissue massages. If I could afford to see the chiropractor and massage therapist several times a week, I’d live a more comfortable life, but I can’t. I ordered this device out of sheer desperation and it was one of the best things I’ve ever done. I use it every morning and evening for 5 minutes or so (I just use my iPhone while I’m using it and don’t really pay attention to the time), but I also use it periodically throughout the day, especially after spending any amount of time standing. My pain is centered around the SI joint and the very lowest vertebrae, so I use this device lower on my back than it’s probably intended for throughout the day. While I am using it, I also straighten and flex my legs, giving myself a well supported core workout. Basically, I am tractioning my lower back, and I get instant relief (and I mean instant). It doesn’t take the place of seeing my chiropractor but, for the price of my co-pay on just one visit, it allows me to stretch my visits to every 3 to 4 weeks. It works best for me to use it on our hardwood floors. I stretch the lower spine, and then, after several seconds, slide the foam a bit further away, providing a deeper stretch of my entire spine. If you’re on the fence about it, I’d encourage you to try it. It might seem pricey for a piece of foam (it is), but when you consider its cost relative to any kind of treatment, it’s really quite a value, especially since I was looking at inversion tables in an attempt to lessen my pain. This does what they do for much less (and it is much easier to store).

Could work for another 240lb guy, but not me
It supported my big frame that weighs about 240lbs. So its a sturdy little foam stretcher. Its kind of pokey, but it wasnt super bad. But that being said, Im pretty sure this made my back worse. I have back pain after work on most days. So i figured id try this to work my back out a bit and stretch it properly. This would make me feel slightly tingly after and it would alleviate the pain some, but as soon as i got into bed or was sedimentary in a chair the pain seemed to flair up. Not really sure if this is common or not. I followed the directions well, feet apart and feet flat, do a little hip thruster action so your entire back isnt taking all your weight, and sit there awhile with it placed towards the lower back. I tried it once sometimes twice a day for about 4-5 mins and couldnt do it anymore. Put it away and forgot about it, only to realize i pretty much missed the return. It could definitely work for some people, but just not me.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
*UPDATED JULY 2nd, 2020!* I received the Solidback around 12pm, I immediately used it for 10min. I admit it was a bit painful at first due to the fact my back isnt used to arching that way. I suffer from a pinched nerve in between my spine. (Football injury) I cant afford a doctor or any of that type of help. SoOooo after the 10min the pain I had really disappeared. I assumed itll come back in a few hours but after moving around, playing with my kids, etc still no pain?!?! 🤯😁 I used it again at 10pm for another 10min and it felt a little more comfortable. I intend to use it twice a day for 10min each. Slowly relieving my back pain and natural spine form. 🙏🙏 (I highly recommend it, the price and fast shipping is unbeatable) Will update after 1 month of use. Thanks. *UPDATED JULY 2nd, 2020!* WHAT A HUGE IMPROVEMENT! This is possibly one of the greatest purchases I have made to help my back. I used to buy so many creams, even expensive ones, I would ask my wife to massage my back, I would go to a masseus, chiropractor, and stretch so much and the pain always came back. But the Solidback is absolutely fantastic, Its been a month and I use it twice a day for 10min each, once in the morning and once at night. I sleep better, feel better and absolutely a huge turn around! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Works!
Besides the reviews, I knew this was going to work for me. I have sciatica that ultimately resulted because of lumbar scoliosis. I am now 35 and this all happened about 3 years ago. The exercises they recommend do help but never really do enough to really hit the spot. I actually learned that by stretching the lower back such as this device does really helps loosen the muscles and relieve my pain. For the last few years I would use something like my living room ottoman to make this happen. However I never knew they actually made products JUST for that purpose. Once I came across this it didn't tale me long to decide to go for it and buy it. Of course as I suspected, it really works! The sciatica was kicking my ass consistently this year for some reason ever since the fall. I've used this product a few times thus far when feeling a lot of pain and after doing so each time I felt really good for several days. It's been even longer since the last time I used it. Finally for the first time in months I'm going days without feeling any discomfort. The only thing I would recommend is read and follow the instructions that they sent with it. You have to make sure you put it in the right spot (they say with natural curvature of the spine) so it stretches the lower back only. If you lay on it wrong you could potentially put new strain on the middle or top of your back. Once you find your sweet spot though, you'll be set. Just lay on it for a few minutes off and on for like 10 minutes and try to walk around. You should feel a difference, if not, use it for a couple of more minutes. As for laying on it for extended periods of time (like sleeping) I don't think I'd recommend it regardless that some people here have said they have done so. I imagine your back isn't supposed to be stretched for hours at a time.

WORKS PRETTY WELL / GOOD VALUE
I have been suffering from back pain for years and have a prescribed traction table to stretch out my spine. I bought this to having something simple to stretch out my back because the traction table is big, bulky, heavy, and a nuisance to get out and strap in. With the Solidback, I just simply put it on the floor and roll back onto it. Most importantly, I needed something for travel that I could just throw in my suitcase; and the size of the Solidback allows for that. I have only had this for about a week, so I can't speak for long term use. I have used this everyday for about two minutes at a time since I got it. The first few days that I used the Solidback it did provide me with instant relief by relaxing the muscles; but I didn't get any pops or long term relief. Today, I got a few good pops when I used it and finally felt my spine shift a little and relieve pressure. It does provide relief. But just like my traction table, you need to use it consistently and things improve over time. This thing is pretty hard. I know it looks spongy; but its not. Some may find it to be uncomfortable at first. I just put it on the floor and roll back onto it slowly and experience very little discomfort. Its a pretty simple design that seems to work so far. The build quality seems to be really good and I expect that it will last for a long time. Considering the quality of the Solidback and the fact that it does what they advertised it to do; I think its a very good value for the price that I paid. Just know that when it comes to back pain and herniated disks there is no quick solution for it; it takes time to slowly get everything aligned...this product seems to help it along.
