Will a Popsocket stick to the material of this case?

Possibly, but not very well. It also might damage the case. Mine seemed to be made of fabric stretched tightly over a plastic frame without very much adhesive keeping it down. It's a beautiful case, but after having one I wouldn't buy it again. It fits loosely, the raised edge doesn't go all the way around, and it doesn't offer very good drop protection. It slipped off a corner when I dropped my phone with it on and my screen cracked, even though it had a tempered glass screen protector on it. My advice is to go for a standard plastic case from someone like Spigen, or maybe if you're willing to spend more to get a case with interesting, high-quality material, look at Bellroy's leather ones.

No, it will not. The Pixel 4a 5G is slightly larger than the Pixel 5. The Blue Confetti Pixel 5 case is only $13 more than this case, so order the correct one.

Would anything stick to the back? Like a wallet or pop socket?

I would say no because it's a fabric covering.

How much is the lip around the camera raised? Is it sufficient such that when the camera is set down on its back, the camera remains untouched?

The camera stays recessed, however with a screen protector on the front, the lip is just about even with the screen protector. Meaning the front isn't recessed enough IMHO.
