Universal Air Conditioner CO 4574JC A/C Compressor and Clutch

This compressor worked great on my ‘08 convertible beetle at first but it only lasted a year. I live in Texas and the summers here are no joke. I was only able to enjoy the cool air last summer but this summer is has completely gone out. There are no freon leaks, it’s just that the compressor is no longer working. Don’t cheap out, buy a better one.

My A/C was cool not cold in the night but NEVER worked in the daytime, not good in Arizona. I decided to take the car in the the dealership to run a diagnostic and see what could it be. VW Dealership wanted to charge me over $3000 to replace my whole damn ac unit in my car which included my ac compressor, expansion valve and receiver drier. I purchased this compressor along with the other parts, NEW TOOLS, and fixed EVERYTHING myself for less than $400. AC is blowing ICE COLD in Phoenix Arizona.

one year this A/C compressor blow out, additional taking long time to get cool.

Only lasted 3 months. It is leaking refrigerant and does not work. Will be purchasing a more reputable brand and a compressor not made in Asia. Review the warranty wording before purchasing.
