Excellent Germination Rate - Good Looking Plants
I ordered the seeds on April 25th and they arrived two days later. I planted out 15 seeds in a 15" 3-gallon pot. 12 plants sprouted 5 days later and the other 3 a week later. It's May 18th and the first 12 plants are now about 9" tall. Every plant is a nice deep healthy looking green. I started a second sowing today in the same pot so they will mature about a month apart. Because they are self sowing and I'm in Zone 10b where it can get above 85F I have the plants protected by a 20% shade plant bag. That will reduce the heat and keep unwanted critters (including my two chickens) away from the peas. I fully expect a great harvest based on the growth rate and how healthy the plants are looking. My soil is a high quality raised bed planting soil 70% with 20% peat and 10% perlite. A added a 1/4 cup of a 6-24-24 fertilizer and a 1/4 cup of worm castings. High nitrogen fertilizers are not recommended for peas as they uptake nitrogen directly from the air (nitrogen fixation). Peas are generally easy to grow. Keep the soil moist and well drained and your peas will please. (Dad pun, yes).

These are so easy to grow! This is the type of plant that anyone can grow. The seeds sprouted without issue and climbed the trellis of the garden bed like it should! I cannot speak of the yield, however. We’ve been under an unusual heatwave and hardly any rain here in Northeast Ohio. Added to the mix was all the traveling I have been doing in the last month and a half where I wasn’t home to make sure they were getting enough water, so the vines wound up dying. I do know they flowered and there were a few pods. As well as they grew, I’m sure there would have been a decent yield had I been able to care for them properly and had we gotten the rain we are used to. I will definitely be buying this again next year to give it another go!

Great. Lots of seeds in the envelope.
Takes a week or 2 to germinate, but grows fast and produces pods fast. Use a trellis or netting - grows little spirals to attach itself, like grapes. We are in zone 10.

Germination rate of about 85%
I planted them in my raised bed garden after soaking them overnight. Although most of them are geminated, the germination percentage I would say is around 85%. I am still happy with that rate. Looking forward to eating fruit pods.

Fast growing and delicious
I love growing veggies in my little garden and these did not disappoint! They grew quickly and I had so many peas that I had to start giving them away to friends and family. And they were absolutely delicious! Great on their own or as a snack or recipe ingredient. Great price too!

Maybe half of them germinate...
The peas come up fast but 50% of them didn't germinate for me. I planted them in good potting soil.
