Hillsdale Montello Backless Swivel Counter Stool, Old Steel Finish with Brown Faux-Leather

I have four of these stools. I absolutely love them. They are made very well and sturdy and stable. They swivel around nicely. Very functional and all four match up perfect. The seat is a medium brownish color that has a swirled look to it and the legs are blackish with a hint of copper in them. I did feel that they were a little pricey but worth it.

First, the color of the seat is much closer to the legs than the redish brown you see in this picture. The stool is easy to put together and I am hardly a handyman. There was no problem with the screws being long enough. I did wish they had sent a few more screws and washers, but I didnt need any. The stool is high quality. VERY solid. Nothing cheap about it. There are two semi-circular curves in the piece that hold the bottom of the legs together that are not shown on the picture, but you see them in pictures elsewhere. If you are wondering, they do come with it and they look nice. The stool is on the larger side. I have standard height counters. If you want to eat at the counter, get the the 26" one. They dont nearly look as nice when stored under the counter, but they are the right height if you are eating at the counter. We dont "eat" dinner at the counter, but seat and stand around it for snacks. For this purpose, the 30" ones are the way to go, The stools, at that heigth look MUCH nicer when they are stored under the counter. The stool arrived in 72 hours. I bought one first to see if it is close to the pictures, etc. I loved mine and ordered two more. They arrived in 48 hours via Prime. I shopped around for them and Amazon is the lowest price by $60. Hope I have addressed all your question!

UPDATE 9/2/2014 WARNING!! You can only order 3 STOOLS! Amazon will make you wait a week to order more. I finally got the 4th stool after arguing with customer service, since there is NO mention of a limit until you exceed it. At that point I already had 1 stool and 2 more on the way. Really, who orders 3 stools, usually you want 2 or 4! You can expect to be short hardware since the bag for hardware isn't even sealed. Only 1 of the 4 stools I got had all the hardware. The stools take a while to put together, that's why you are not paying $200 or more for them (like I saw in a local store.) Having said all that....I love the stools. They are sturdy, look beautiful, and function well. The legs are definitely more of gold tone versus what I expected for "Old Steel." _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Stool is very sturdy and attractive. The seat is comfortable and much larger than I expected. I too was missing hardware--2 black washers. :( The metal finish is very golden, more like a golden bronze. Looks great, but it is not a silver or pewter. Ordering 3 more for my kitchen today, and hopefully they will come with all the hardware.

Very nice stool...a good looking, well-padded dark brown leatherette covering on the seat. It swivels perfectly. Takes a few minutes to assemble and tighten everything. You use an allen wrench, which was included. All parts were there plus 1 extra screw. I would definitely buy another, if needed. Height is as described, not any less.

Great product, easy to assemble even without looking at the instruction paper. These stools also complimented my traditional decor … bought 4 of them.

They are the perfect height. The product shipped quickly, well packaged, and without damage. The stools were easy to assemble and are of sound construction. The welded joints are solid; the spatter was removed and the welds were ground smooth The finish is even and professionally done. All the parts lined up when assembling. The tops of the stools have a thick padding that are easily cleaned with a damp cloth. I was concerned that these might be cheaply made, but I am impressed. I have a few very hefty friends and was worried these stools might not hold up. They are more than ample and attractive and comfortable too. I couldn't be more pleased.

Purchased these some years ago. They've heald up great. Glad to see they're still available. Just bought 3 more for the in-laws. I like that they have a larger seat than most other stools and that they're solidly built. No worries if they'll need to support larger and or heavier backsides. Nice and comfortable too. Assembly was easy, everything fit together like it was supposed to, no wobbling, nice and level.

Beautiful stool and easy to assemble. Nice big seat. Only negative is that it is really hard to swivel.
