This is a 2.5 inch drive meaning it is small enough and to fit into a laptop. Desktop drives are usually 3.5 inches. So it should work fine but you will probably need to buy an adapter to mount it inside your desktop tower. It’s small and light enough that I don’t even have to use a mounting kit to attach it with screws. It weighs almost nothing so 3M double sided tape is all you need. It’s faster, quieter and more rugged than the drive it replaced. It uses less power so if you’re putting it into a laptop your battery life will be extended.
