Sharpest scissors I've ever owned
I was looking for a pair of scissors for paper cutting and couldn't find mine so I ended up aggravated and getting on Amazon and buying 3 different pairs for 3 different drawers so that wouldn't happen again. I wasn't expecting much because they were all inexpensive but figured they would suit my purposes. Or at least 1 or 2 of the 3 would. These little scissors are really nice. I make sure to keep them in the stand by my chair. They are absolutely the sharpest scissors I have ever owned. Even sharper than my sewing scissors, that I paid considerably more money for. I may end up buying another pair for my sewing room.

Grip a bit small for petite female hand
I prefer a bent handle style and the finger portion of this was a bit too small for my rather female small hands. I ordered these 6" scissors and prefer them. They are pricier at $13.99, but worth it to me because of more comfort & higher quality. Here is the link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09B1CMSND?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

Solid Scissors!!
These scissors are so much better than others with cheap plastic handles. They are stronger and more durable. At a great price too😎

Excellent Quality; Sturdy; Can be sharpened for many years of use; Made in Italy/Europe (Not China)
My grandparents had a pair of scissors similar to these which lasted for some 50+ years. While these may be a bit more expensive than other products, the forged steel construction means they are study, will last for years, and are able to be sharpened (a quick google search can locate craftsmen who can cheaply and quickly sharpen blades such as these; you can also ask you barber/stylist where they get their blades sharpened); this is nice for those wishing to reduce their environmental impact. As a plus, because they are made in Italy, you can feel comfortable knowing the tradesmen and tradeswomen who made them were (most likely) fairly compensated and work in a safe environment.

After comparing them to vintage italian scissor of the same pattern, I see where the corners are cut.
No plastic handles to break. Sure they are a little heavier than the Made in China plastic handled junk but that means they'll probably never break. The forged blades are thicker than the cheap stamped stainless steel blades on lesser scissors and will not bend as easily. The only problem with them is they cut corners where it reallly mattered , the finishing on the insides of the blade. The grinding is rough and incomplete. If you look at the gap between the blades under the light, you may notice that they did not finish grinding the area behind the pivot. This raises the gap between the blade right at the pivot and causes the blades to have to be too tight together for it to cut. This is not the case with the other pair of vintage italian scissor I have access to, the inside of the vintage pair is ground smooth all the way from tip to the end near the pivot. The Westcott has degraded cutting performance and feel compared to a better finished product.Another way to test the quality of the scissors is to put a straight edge along the inside of the blade to see if the bow is a smooth arc. In my case it wasn't. This can cause the scissors not to have a consistent cut on difficult materials like plastic shopping bags which is so flexible and resilient that it can fold between the blades rather than shearing. The scissors tend to be too tight as delivered but the you can adjust the tension with a flat head screwdriver and even separate the blades for sharpening. If the screw becomes loose, you can back it out until the end of it sinks below the joint area on the other side and exposes the threads and put a bit of blue loctite on it and tighten it back up. You can grind the insides to a smooth even finish and remove the raised area behind the pivot if you have a full set of waterstones and a diamond plate like I do but if you don't, you might prefer to get a vintage pair of italian scissors on ebay and probably get something better for about the same price.

Just what I was looking for !!
After my last pair of plastic handled scissors broke, I decided to look for the classic, all-metal, black handled scissors I remember my parents having when I was a kid. The blades close tightly, there's not a lick of plastic to be found, and they're not made in China ..... they're made in Italy. That last part was a surprise, but after eating their cuisine for many years, why not give their cutting implements a try ???Used them for the first time today to cut up an old pair of Levi's for shop towels. They're very sharp and cut through the thick denim seams without any flexing of the handles. Most of the plastic handled scissors I've owned would have flexed significantly and possibly broken. These scissors allowed me to use a lot of pressure to get the job done.
