Q: Can i use this as a base for my own body wash? i would be adding essential oils to it.

That's exactly what I use it for. However, keep it to a 1% dilution (6 drops of essential oils per ounce of soap) otherwise I find it starts to break the formulation and gets way too loose.

Q: can a essential oil be added to this if i want to add a natural fragrance?

Yes you can. That's what we do and works out great. You just have to shake well to mix in the oil.

Q: Can I add my own color and scent?

I added essential oils to mine and it separated and became so watery it just poured out of the bottle instead of flowing out like a body wash.
