It's only the two of us, and I'd buy those family size packages only to use a few today, then lose the rest in the freezer. Especially with as expensive as food is today, a real bummer. I bought the VS-12P from desertcart, and it's a game changer for me. Well-built, easy to use, intelligent controls, EZ/PZ to use. Now I can break up these bulk packages to meal-size portions and vacpack and freeze with no worries. This stuff can now be put back just like canned goods, pasta, flour, etc. in the freezer until needed. Thaws easy in a cold water sink and comes out as fresh as the day I packed it. This is one of those 'WHY didn't I get one of these sooner' buys. It saves you having to go to the store every few days for fresh meat and produce, it's real unspoken advantage. Now I can go once a week or less. THAT's a huge time savings I never realized till I bought this. This is a great product, and I'd buy one or recommend one in a heartbeat.
