As the youngest of several siblings, I generally just got passed along most things. Somehow I came to have two brushes that were exactly the same, that none of my sisters liked because they weren't good for their hair. However, my hair is a very odd mix of slightly curly and a little thin and these brushes worked just fabulously on them. For years, I tried finding replacements for these brushes--and even when I bought new ones that I thought were similar--they weren't. It always felt like I was trying to brush my hair with a cheap paint brush, and I couldn't figure out why these brushes that looked and felt the same actually had very soft bristles and couldn't "dig into" my hair. Reinforced nylon is the answer. Apparently, most brushes that look like this are made with boar bristles, and not nylon. Unfortunately, probably because my hair is a little curly--these boar bristles are just wholly ineffective. It's a little pathetic that it's taken me into my 20s to figure this out, but at least I know what to look for in the future. As for this actual brush, it looks just about as pictured in the preview pic and feels quality. Works beautifully for me. Recommended for those people who need this type of brush, but with stronger bristles.

I like this brush. The wooden handle (rather than plastic) is plain but shaped to offer a good, comfortable grip, and the head is wide enough to allow for five rows of firm bristles and easier cleaning without being as wide as many modern brushes that look like they were designed for Rapunzel or King Kong. The bristles are more firm than typical natural bristles or brushes using a combination of nylon and natural bristles, but they're quite effective without feeling too hard or sharp like a steel brush being dragged across the scalp. I find them firm enough for short-to-medium length hair. I like the price, too; it's a good deal compared to many similar brushes that use the natural bristles or bristle combinations mentioned that usually go for $10 to $15 and up. The only down mark is the handle finish could have a nicer finish, but that would probably boost the price. 4.4*

Not too hard, not too soft. Perfect for my short hair and to massage my scalp to keep it healthy. Removes dry skin and increases the good oils.

I have been on the hunt for a good brush since I lost mine. None of the other brushes worked for my thick and long hair. I finally bought this even though it is a men’s brush and I’m a women. It works perfectly. It has the perfect strength and doesn’t hurt my head.

The brush is of great quality. The bristles aren’t too thick and not too soft. It’s just right for thick texture hair and curls.

I love love love this brush !! I have very thick and curly hair 3C to be exact. This brush helps me smooth my hair down for a nice ponytail. Definitely worth the price.

I bought this brush for my beard after looking at material recommending a boar hair brush for proper beard care. It is excellent value for money and actually makes my beard feel softer and look a bit thicker. The brush is a good size and the bristles are secure in place. Very pleased with brush.

It’s a nice brush by be warned it is extremely stiff. Good for super thick hair and to massage/exfoliate your bead and hair. Bristles are plenty long.

Nice brush. Makes hair feel soft. When it arrived though, it was red in color, not black.
