Asia Rock Tumbler Refill Kit - 3 Lbs. of Asia Stone Mix and 2 Batches of 4 Step Abrasive Grit and Polish

Fluorite is a soft stone, so these need to be tumbled 1/3-1/2 as long as hard stones. Don't follow the instructions that come with your rock tumbler or you'll be tumbling the stones away! Start with 30-48 hours on step 1 grit.I had to break mine into 2 batches because the large size of the rocks threw the tumbler off-balance and it shut down. I tumbled batch 1 too long (5 days! Per the generic tumbler instructions) and they nesrly disappeared. Thats user error though. Batch 2 has 24 hours left and I'll do an updated photo of the shorter tumble time.I docked a star only because the rocks are large and thus a bit noisier and depending on tumbler size you would want to do 2 batches. I don't think the fluorite set is for beginners though, given the softness of the stone.

Compared to the hobby kit I purchased previously this kit is AWESOME! The rocks are at least 3 or 4 times bigger than my other kit I got and the grit packets actually have grit in them. The hobby kit was like a sugar packet of grit these packets in this kit have more than enough grit to get the job done. I actually might try using half the packet to see if I can get twice as much use out of it. Very happy with this kit and it will be my go-to refill from now on.

Bought for my son who loves rocks. This kit is intended for larger tumblers but we successfully used it in his beginners tumbler and turned out fine.

Great buy

The polish powder (aluminum oxide)opened and got all over everything in the package. It’s a waste. I’ve had snafus with this stuff before. Once it is stuck to something there’s no brushing it off. And it makes a gigantic mess. I’m a little disappointed.

I just got into rock tumbling and I love it!! Seeing the rocks go through the stages and come out all shiney and beautiful is so much fun! I love this refill kit, it comes with such variety its awesome!!! 10 outta 10 would buy again!!!
