I’ve used the 9/16” version (not included in this set, but exact same parabolic flute 31 degree helix design) to drill perfect holes in very hard 1/4” thick stainless steel. Use a drill press, not a hand held drill, go slow and use a good lubricant like Anchor. The bit cuts very smoothly and the resulting hole is smooth and shiny inside. Just my 2 cents. **Q: are these 1/4 inch hex** A: These are 1/2 drill bits. **Q: Are these universal?
