Ultimately the shape seals the bowl hole and allows you to plunge water pressure against the clog as good as the expensive ones. Simply made, gets the job done and didn't cost a fortune.

I have wanted to buy an old fashioned plunger as a replacement for one I had and loved for 20+ years. This looked like it. I got it, had to use it today and it was a 1000% fail! Rubber too flimsy, everted leaving it utterly and totally useless. Have to throw it out and start again. Why they cannot just use the same rubber design and RUBBER that worked for a century is beyond me ....this is crap junk...DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!!!!

This plunger was horrible. This has to be the worst plunger ever! We used it once and I threw it in the trash! It didn't even unclog the toilet I had to get old faithful back out! Do not recommend!
