## Description

Six teens murdered. Suspect arrested. Desperate father. Truth hidden. Psychiatrist Gwen Moore must profile killer and victims to uncover the real story.

Review: Twisted phycological thriller, brilliant!! - Oh wow, this book was amazing. I love this authors work but this did take me by suprise and it was so good. As always the writing is perfect, lots of twist and turns, shocks I never for once seen coming and brilliant characters to get lost in. Gwen Moore is a psychologist who specialises is patients with violent and dangerous fantasies, she comes across as a confident successful lady who knows her job well and is very good at it. She meets Defense Attorney Robert Kavin in a bar one night and they click. They get talking and realise they have more in common than she first thinks. Robert has lost his only son to The Bloody Heart Killer aka BH Killer and he hires Gwen to do a profile on the man that has been arrested for the crimes, Robert thinks he is innocent and intends to represent him. As you can imagine this causes some whispers behind closed doors and this is where the fun really starts. There are more twists and turns in this book than you will ever imagine. just when you think you have it all worked out this author takes the reader on a different path and not just once either but many times. Loved it so much. I opened this book and literally could not put it down. Brilliant phycological thriller you won't want to miss.
Review: Engaging story with dark twists - This has everything I love in a book - dark twists, engaging story, unpredictable characters and a serial killer. It’s also full of sharp tension and that addictive chemistry between the two lead characters. The premise is instantly chilling - six teens murdered. A suspect behind bars. A desperate father. The truth hiding in the shadows. With this book, A R Torre delivers another jaw-dropping thriller with a twist so impossible to predict, tension tightening page by page and sharp, suffocating pacing. I enjoyed the detailed insights into psychological profiling, and personality disorders, which added authenticity and weight. The Good Lie is dark and twisty and absolutely everything I like about crime fiction, a short, quick read that’s difficult to put down, and with a wickedly unpredictable ending it’s highly entertaining.

### ⭐⭐⭐ The Good Lie by A. R. Torre
*by H***Y on 25 March 2026*

The Good Lie by A. R. Torre gets a solid 3.5 stars from me. This was a really engaging, fast-paced thriller that kept me turning the pages, even when I wasn’t entirely sure how I felt about the characters. Torre does a great job building tension and creating a sense that something is always just slightly “off,” which made the reading experience feel immersive and uneasy in a good way. The highlight for me was definitely the twist. I actually started to piece it together just before the reveal, but that didn’t take away from my enjoyment—in fact, it made it more satisfying to see it all come together. Looking back, the clues were there, but subtle enough that it still felt clever and well-executed. That said, I didn’t feel completely blown away. Some of the characters felt a bit underdeveloped, and there were moments where the pacing either rushed through emotional beats or lingered a little too long on less important details. Because of that, I never felt fully invested on a deeper level, even though I was hooked on the plot. Overall, The Good Lie is a compelling and clever thriller with a memorable twist, even if it doesn’t quite hit every mark. Definitely worth a read if you enjoy psychological suspense with a surprising payoff.
