Great quality USA made pliers
Very well made, heavy-duty 6-inch slip-joint pliers. I bought the 6 and 8-inch versions which are identical in every aspect except for a 2 inch length difference. They operate very smoothly, with no side-to-side slop after a slight adjustment of the flush fastener and a drop of oil. Everything lines up the way it should. The whole fit and finish is great with a small, almost unnoticeable imperfection here and there. This is my favorite brand and style of US made slip-joint pliers. I much prefer this style of joint/fastener over the rivet style because there's no way to adjust for wear or simply to remove any slop with the solid rivet style. They are more expensive than many other brands, but you get what you pay for with tools. Wilde makes pliers for many of the other top brands like SK, Stanly Proto, etc. I fully expect these to last me the rest of my life, then go to my son or grandson. I gave these five stars because the fit and finish is as good as it gets for American made tools nowadays, but they don't hold a candle to my Japanese made pliers in that respect. While they are more heavy-duty, I really wish USA tool manufacturers would step up their game to compete with Japanese and German manufacturing when it comes to the small details of the finished product, without trying to charge a fortune for the extra effort.

Belt Pliers
predate Leatherman by generations. I have yet to find a multi tool that will do what a simple set of slip joints dose, and to me their beauty and functionality lies in their simplicity, it is deceiving. The other guy that talks about belt pliers said it better than me, but facts is facts, and you can count me as a second vote. The farmer was correct, once you EDC them, the multi tools will go in kits. I add an old school (red handle scales) SAK Ranger or an US knife (Colonial Knives.com) and I have my needs met in spades. Mine usually ride in the tool pouch of my loggers or bibs. No tool pouch, belt pouch on my belt.

Good pliers
Good pliers that last. After a few years you may need to add a dab of locktie to the screw but great otherwise

Why the complaints?
Great pliers. Slip joints by nature have a bit of play in them, my Mitutoyo's measured 1mm at the tip without any tightening/adjustment. I gave the nut a 1/4 turn just before they got too tight to open without a hassle and the play was reduced to .5mm. These are comparable to my USA Snap-on pair, and the nice Japanese pair of Engineers I have. The complaints about the narrow handles are quickly dismissed when you grab onto something at which point the handles are perfect. The handles make this the perfect back pocket pair. If you need to grab something with a larger diameter or need to really crank something tight grab the Knipex Cobras. Knipex Cobras are good for 95% of jobs but sometimes you just need a good pair of slip joints. These are a great pair and at $16-ish and made in the USA you might as well own two pairs.I want to add that it is hard to find a great pair of these in the oxide finish. The cheap chrome ones flake and leave deposits where you don't want them. The good chrome ones are often 3-5x the price of these.

Shop around.
Not a bad set of pliers but also not a $20 set. I'm sure you could find the same quality Quinn or Doyle for about 10 less.
