First I sweep.... then I go over the floors with a Swiffer "wet" because any remaining dust bunnies get picked up by the wet instead of just moved around by the "dry" (and if there are dust bunnies on the floor, even with the Bona stone floor cleaner - they adhere to the concrete and have to be wiped up by hand before the polish goes on because if you use the polish while there are dust bunnies on the floor, then it's gross and they are there, sort of permanently since this is a water based urethane product).... then I use the Bona Stone Cleaner (yes.. I have the gallon), it dries fast AND THE FLOORS LOOK REALLY BRIGHT over and above the swiffer,which is just for dust in my opinion... I do it in sections by the joints/seams in the concrete. When it's dry, I use the polish section by section, then go over it again with a second coat. WOW. I do this every four or five months, and in between use the floor refresher after cleaning well. That's pretty darn awesome for just two or three times a year, but next time..... I'm turning it into a "floor" party! There is NO SMELL, it dries fast, and the finish looks like I've had a crew in my house cleaning for days. I don't have laminate floors, however I read a bunch of negative reviews about this product on laminate floors. SUGGESTION: try the wood cleaner and polish on the laminate instead of this one. This is hands down, the best cleaner/polish for stone/concrete/slate floors. I have about 800 sq ft of slate in a guest bath, laundry room, and greenhouse room. And it's cheap slate. The stone cleaner/polish on the slate makes it look professionally done, enriches the colors, protects the floors from wear and tear, and makes it look like a much more high end floor than it actually is. I could go on and on, but the first coat of my polish is dry, and I'm ready for round two. DON'T USE ON LAMINATE.... Bona instructions say not for natural finish however I was desperate... floor was dirty and stained with scratches from moving furniture. The mop/applicator with spray is great and makes cleaning and waxing easy. Hardest part was masking the top of base to keep the walls clean. While the parquet was new in 1975, the house is old and floors are not perfectly flat - so a high-gloss wax finish would show every imperfection. I found the low gloss sheen perfect and exactly what I wanted. How did the floors turn out?? Twice as good as I had hoped. The Bona cleaner and wax system resurrected the finish amazingly well and I am totally satisfied... and I am an architect. Since then I had hoped to have a similar result on an old oak floor with practically no finish left, a lot of bare wood - it may have had a natural finish that had no maintenance - unfortunately Bona did nothing - I had to rent a floor sander and applied a light stain and polyurethane with the Bona mop/applicator with an excellent result. I have nothing but praise for Bona, and I have to confess that I did not watch the DVD that came with the product... maybe next job... **Q: is it a gloss finish** A: Yes it is gloss and I thought after the first time that it might be slippery, but it is not.The floors look new! **Q: I used this product and it ruined my new engineered hardwood, how can i remove it safely without damaging my floors? Help! Thanks** A: I first tried this company's wood floor cleaner and liked the results, which lead me to try their polish. I should have read reviews on the polish first. Like you I did not like the result of the polish, I called the manufacturer and they said I needed to reapply with a mop head designed for the polish. I reapplied and looked better for awhile, but after a period of time it got worse and worse. Finally had to order their polish removal product. Funny how that product costs a lot more than their polish, and most places that sell the polish and cleaner, do not sell the polish remover. it will soften the polish and lift it from the floor to removal with a mop and water, but it is by no means an easy task, it took me hours to do a 200 sq ft area. Never again will I uses this product. After reading numerous reviews that said they complained to the manufacturer about this product, I do not understand why they still sell it. I do not rate all my amazon products, but felt I needed to tell other comsumers about this one. **Q: Can i use this on sealed natural stone flooring?** A: Bona Stone, Tile and Laminate Floor Polish is safe for your natural stone flooring, as long as your floor is sealed or finished, and unwaxed or unoiled. Surfaces should be sealed including the grout lines, unsealed stone or grout lines may cause staining. Bona Floor Polishes’ urethane-acrylic blend evens out the floor's appearance, restores the shine and provides a durable wear layer for protection. Bona Polishes may also be used to fill in minor scratches and to even out the sheen of a floor. It is not recoatable with polyurethane finishes or Bona Refresher. Vacuum well first, any grit may get stuck into the final finish. I used their cleaner, allowed a few hours to dry with fan, and then applied the standard satin finish which also dried in a few hours with fan to walk on wearing socks. No toxic issues, and my wife has asthma and she did not have any breathing issues at all. I will wait and do a second coat in 24 hours.
