It was just a matter of going from "A" to "Z" per the instructions. I must admit that I was skeptical about purchasing such an important tool at harbor freight, one that can potentially cause severe harm or maiming to myself or others; but upon assembling the engine stand, my fears were completely resolved. The engine stand is even sturdier than it appears in the store. There is no doubt in my mind that this 1000 pound maximum capacity engine stand can easily hold the maximum weight and not break, fall or do anything else that I am not wanting it to do. The quality of the piece, the thickness of the metal frame, etc. are very sturdy.Please do note that this particular engine stand does come in many pieces & full assembly is required. So, be prepared to devote about an hour (at a fairly steady pace) for the assembly. This can be very time consuming, depending upon your level or handiness with tools.These are my suggestions for assembly:*Start in a fairly large, empty place to assembly your engine stand*Open the box, take out all of the pieces, lay them out so that they are easily seen*Have 3-5 open containers (or open boxes) nearby to place each individual package of bolts, etc. in (do NOT mix them up!)*Have available a variety wrenches (possibly crescent wrenches as well)*Follow the instructions step by step & your good to go! Every area had its own packet of bolts. For instance, the castors had its own package of bolts, etc., all of the bolts, nuts, contained the flat washers & lock washers, as well. This made the assembly even easier & very convenient. I highly & with confidence recommend this engine stand!
