The display in the Guifer smart scales is white projected through a semi-opaque white layer built into the glass platen. This makes it very difficult and even impossible to read in a bright sunlit room. The display is fine in a less bright area. The digits are quite large at just under 2 centimeters high. The database used by the partnered Foodiet App seems to lean towards American foods. The curved shape of the scales is attractive but not particularly practical for storage. Unlike various digital scales we have used in the past it does not measure to accuracy any less than one gram but this will not be important for most users.The scales are easy to wipe clean and the three AAA batteries can be changed without the need for any tools.

These scales are brilliant, there are some preset weights in there that can throw you out a bit at first like bananas but if you add 1 banana it will log it accurately, having the app is really good as it stores all of your data separately to the scales. I would definitely recommend, seeing what’s in your food in terms of fats, protein and carbs etc. Makes you more aware of what you are consuming.

Great bit of kit

nice scale with a good app, unfortunately the specification for the scale are incorrect. I was looking for a high capacity food scale and bought this one as it stated a 33lb (15kg) capacity. When I received the scale the instructions stated a max capacity of 11lb (5kg). I tested this and can confirm the 5kg weight limit.The overall feature set and look of the scale it good but the description needs to be updated to match the produce being sold to prevent further poor reviews of an otherwise good product.

For full transparency I only use this food scale for very basic use such as cooking. I don't use it for baking and I also don't use the app that it connects to. I usually use it to measure the ingredients I'm using and things like weighing produce. I like the design of this food scale and it matches very well with my apartment's aesthetic.
