The original Parker had sack to store ink, while the new Parker 51 has converter to store ink and the later is more convenient.I have original historical Parker 51, so I can say that the new model is not as smooth as the old one.

This pen is a Parker 51 in name only.The designers of the nib and hood are at best a joke. The converter for using an ink bottle is puny. The cap is of excellent quality.Find the real 51. There are plenty around.
