These filters here definitely seem way more legit than the original Berkey filters that are offered by Berkey and other websites. And I also like it that these are ceramic rather than a bunch of plastic. Though they still have some plastic, it's not to the excessive amount of other filters. Also it's nice that two of these filters can do the same job that four filters can do of the Berkey style, and what I mean by that is that in order to have a good set up on the Berkey filters, you have to have at least two fluoride filters and two charcoal filters, whereas two of these doulton berkefeld filters do the same exact job. One of the salesman I believe for British berkefeld filters, he said that they would filter out the water slower than the Berkey filters, but we put two of these filters in our 4 gallon Berkey and they have been keeping up really well. So far with a family of six drinking out of a 4 gallon berkey, it keeps up really well. Granted if we are working outside a lot and all six of us are needing to fill up water bottles and so on, I'm sure it would start to slow down a bit, but thankfully four of our family our younger children, so not six adults trying to drink out of a 4 gallon unit. But the salesman said that if you want the filters to fill up your Berkey base faster with more water, you need to buy more filters, more filters equals more flow, so with each filter it ups your output into your Berkey base. Some people said that they didn't like how the water tasted, well we had to let the Berkey cycle at least two rounds of water so about 8 gallons before the water started to taste better. I think the salesman mentioned that you could drink the water on the second round after the initial purging of the filters and the first main filtration process. But even after the second time the water still didn't taste 100%, but after that it started tasting better each time water was put through the filters for another round. And I don't mean pre-filling the filters. There's no way to do that on this and it's not necessary. I just mean the filters cycling around of water after you fill up the filter section of the berkey. Anyways, the price is great compared to Berkey filters as I would have had to have paid over $200 to get the same job done and also the fact that Berkey filters have had some lawsuit going on, I just couldn't trust them. So I'm glad to find this alternative that so far I trust relatively well, but that could change if I find out any cans of worms. Which so far I'm pretty confident that will not happen. Give them a chance and cycle your filters with at least a couple gallons through them each time and then give it a shot, I think you will be surprised.

The best. Slow at first but after a few weeks they speed up. Probably still half the speed of the black Berkey filters. I ran my 4 gallon dispenser 3 times with two filters (12 gallons). About 6 gallons through each. Did this before drinking. Water tasted amazing. It’s been a month and tastes even better. My new go too. Customer service was awesome as well. No goofy extra fluoride filters too. I only wish they weren’t so pricey.

We use this and another brand to filter our decent tap water, not sure which one works better but the water tastes good. we use it for all house plants and drinking water, most cooking water, we use a crowd counter to count the number of times we fill up berkey base to know when to change
