To say I was pleased with the cane wood be an understatement. (See what I did there?) Excellent quality, and the bolt for joining the two parts is long and strong. Wood is blemish-free and both parts are consistently stained. The joinery ring is a beautiful touch, with the manufacturer's family name and "handmade" inscribed. Came with an extra foot. In general, it is even better than described on this site. There's a lot of discussion in this product's Q&A about trimming the cane shorter, and whether it's advisable while the cane is slightly tapered. The concern is that the trimmed end would then be too wide for the foot. So I did some measurements, using a caliper, for your edification: the main body/shaft is exactly 28" long. At that end, the diameter is 23mm. Trimmed 2cm shorter, it'd be at 23.3mm. At 4cm, it's 23.6mm. At 6cm, it's 23.9 mm. At 8cm, it's 24.0mm. and at 10cm, it's 24.1cm. I can't say whether these dimensions are typical, or whether they are consistent across all the canes. I am still going to trim my cane, since the taper is so minor. If the foot doesn't fit on the new end, I'll cut some small expansion slots into it to give it a little extra room for siding on. We'll see how it works. FOLLOW-UP EDIT: After measuring it to fit me, I chopped off 1 11/16" (43mm) and beveled the tip. The rubber foot was definitely tighter than before (due to the stick's taper) but went on without much effort. So it works, at least up to these measurements.

I'm 27, been suffering from spinal stenosis and degenerative disc disease for the better part of ten years, and I'm a big ol bear of a person; please believe me when I tell you that this cane is the best cane I have ever owned. It's sturdy and surprisingly light, and I've already dropped it a couple times in the week or two I've owned it, but it has not borne any real damage. I plan to snag any future canes I desire from Asterom, without a doubt in my mind.

This is my first cane. I have been having more difficulty with my knee and getting up from a kneel. It is just the right sturdiness and helps a lot. Plus it is really unique looking and not just "My Grandpa's Cane." The wife wants one in one of your other handle styles as well. Would recommend! Minor complaint was the box used to ship was too large and took a good beating. Box had been retaped and the product was just flopping around. It was well padded in its own wrapping and was not damaged though.

This cane is beautiful. Very well crafted and sturdy. I was surprised to find a card in the box saying it was made in war-torn Ukraine, which makes the purchase all that more impressive and worth every penny

Very lightweight and sturdy. Beautiful craftsmanship. Unfortunately not as tall as advertised, about an inch short but I am definitely keeping it and am looking forward to my evening walks.
