A must for truck drivers
If you're a truck driver, you need to have one of these. It makes diagnosing lighting issues a snap.

Great tool for a tractor technician
A must have in your toolbox or on your truck. I’ve been using this tool daily for over 4 years and it still works great. Has held up over the years without issue.

Great
Great tool, couldn't go back to not having one. Helps so much to determine if it's a trailer or truck problem. Or if you want to test to see if the cable is bad, plug it into the truck and make sure the power is being sent to the socket, plug the cable back in, and then plug the tester into the other end of the cable. Now it's not good for testing low voltage that can still light up one light on a tester, but for just testing to see if power is making to the trailer it works great. Very convenient. Yes, you could just use a test light, but it's so much easier to plug it in as well as still being able. Plus it gives you a more layman's way to show customers that for example the problem is the truck and not the trailer.

A Must Have, but one big caveat to consider!
First off, this is a great tester. I've boughten two of these now since 2022. The first one, the right turn signal LED just stopped working. Hint - keep the broken parts, and I'm here to tell you why. You can make two bad testers into one good one. The circuit board is like a waffle slip-in part. The pins are molded onto the casing. One or the other goes bad. If you read vsrious reviews, you'll find that if you momentarily tug this tester sideways with the pigtail connector, these pins just shear off like tinsel, and you'll hear ping, ping, ping....as the pins just fall to the ground, your eyes wide!! How does this happen = obviously when you're working on the traiker and opening the pigtail receptacles trailer access panel or the area behind the receptacle to pull out the wiring, you're gonna have to pull the truck ahead....but at a truck stop, you can't do that, so you park the tractor beside the traiker, but stretch the pigtail to the pulled out receptacle and twist and bend wiring splices till you find the bad connection or repair...the coiled pigtails are the worst ones because they cause a springlike tension. This style of tester has really small pin connections at the base (JUST LOOK AT IT SIDEWAYS). You may never have a problem with them, until the day you use it like this doing a lights test, and using the tester like I explained to watch for the flickering light while messing with the wiring on an elusive lighting issue. That's why I gave it 4 stars. It's a must-have and a convenience for doing just this, but it has the darndest Achilles Heel as it snaps the pins off like this. So keep that in mind - to never do this!! Otherwise I love this thing. Every Trucker should have one, and they should even sell them at Truck Stops. You'd think DOT would promote these things, but then again we're truck drivers and we take what we can get as over(underpaid) slaves. Good luck and hope you buy one!
