I've tried all baby shampoos on the market (Johnson and Johnson, Aveeno, California Baby, Mustela) and none helped. A few months ago I discovered that Dove Bar Soap, Sensitive Skin Unscented, 4 Ounce, 16 Count had been the main cause of redness and intense itching on her skin, which doctors thought was atypical eczema. After discontinuing Dove her skin has mostly cleared up and she no longer itches. I wondered if the detergent (surfuctant) base in most baby shampoos could be triggering a similar response. I knew dandruff shampoos were sometimes recommended for cradle cap in babies, so I tried a small amount (quarter size) of Neutrogena T/Sal Shampoo, Scalp Build-up Control, 4.5 fl oz on her, left it on for five minutes, rinsed well and reapplied, leaving it on for another five minutes. I thought her curly hair would be a dry frizzy mess but was surprised when it dried and it was very soft and wavy; a dime size dab of Aveeno Baby Eczema Therapy Moisturizing Cream, 5 Ounce worked through her hair and scalp, a spray of water and some scrunching is all that's needed to form ringlets that hold all day. Her scalp cleared up in less than a week, and although she isn't cured - it comes back if I don't use it on her - I'm glad to finally have found a solution. I use T-Sal once or twice a week on her, if any scales reappear - otherwise, I use Bella B Bee Gone Cradle Cap Baby Shampoo 8 Oz . This shampoo is aloe based, hypoallergenic and paraben free, with a light fragrance that hasn't caused any issues. Both shampoos have worked well on my other children who sometimes get cradle cap as well. On my end, I am sensitive to fragrances and my hair reacts terribly to strong sulfuctants and silicones found in "hydrating" shampoos, causing a huge amount of frizz, dryness, build up and breakage. Before trying T-Sal on my children, I tried it on my wavy hair. I was also surprised to see how well T-Sal cleaned and how soft and light feeling my hair dried afterwards. I've also noticed it helps my hand eczema (from using strong detergents such as Dial 1423982 Purex Ultra Free and Clear Concentrated Liquid Detergent, 100oz Bottle, (Pack of 4) ), if I leave the shampoo on my hands as long as I do on my hair. I now use T-Sal to help remove product build up and alternate with DHS Clear Shampoo 16 oz and DHS Conditioning Rinse with Panthenol, Fragrance Free 8 fl oz (236 ml) , both very mild no-frills products that work really well. The only thing I don't like is the small size. I've bought a large size T-Gel to see if it's more cost effective and will report back after I try it. Review: 10/10 would recommend for scalp psoriasis! - Psoriasis runs in my family and I unfortunately found out a few years ago that I have it as well. Only the front and very back of my scalp are affected, but it’s really embarrassing to have huge chunks of flakes coming out—especially at work or on outings with friends. I’ve tried not to take medication for it because it’s not that bad (not much redness, just a good amount of build up) but it’s gotten to the point where I can’t take it anymore. My normal routine to deal with it before was to wash my hair (every other day), let it air dry for 15 minutes, blow dry it with my Dyson, and quickly follow up with Nume argan oil on my ends. This usually works and seals in the moisture (somehow it travels up to my scalp and works wonders). But my hair has been so dry from the constant blow drying that not even the argan oil is helping much. So I set off to find a good shampoo that would let me air dry my hair without having to worry about this time consuming process. I didn’t think this would work very well, but I have to say I won’t be buying another shampoo anytime soon. This has worked wonders for my scalp—it feels clean, renewed, and I’m more confident because of it. I paired this with one of those silicone scalp massaging brushes to maximize the exfoliation process. What a perfect pair! If you’re struggling with build up, give this a try and you won’t regret it :). Only bad thing is that the bottle is so small, so you’re paying a lot but not getting as much as you normally would.

Like Neutorgena T Sal It Works for Me.
This shampoo is good for scalp build up. Works quite well and not to harsh. I don't use it every day. Seems to get the job done.

Fixes scalp buildup and crust
So I spoke to a dermatologist, and because I have seborrheic dermatitis, this product is not really a cure. If you have seborrheic dermatitis: this shampoo will dissolve scalp residue including build-up and scabs, but it won't alleviate those symptoms over time. I was using it once or twice a week but the acidity in this shampoo is pretty strong and I've had a couple of times where I left it on my scalp for a little bit too long and it stung, and burned my scalp slightly (nothing scary or unmanageable, just irritating). I never use it when I have open scratches on my scalp, it will burn. Because I can alternate it with other shampoos, one bottle of the two they sent me has lasted about 4-5 months. I would recommend switching it during washes where your scalp has felt okay to avoid over-exfoliating it. After shampooing and letting my hair dry, my scalp feels smooth with no buildup, crust, or bumps and very little dryness or flaking. But as a habitual picker, if I try I can certainly get flakes. So don't try. Even applied directly to my scalp, brushing it gently with a scalp brush, and slowly rinsing the shampoo through the rest of my hair, it does a good job cleansing my actual hair. It's never dried out my hair, made it frizzy, or did a poor job cleaning oil like some other medicated shampoos I've used. It just sort of does a basic job cleaning, with no real hair benefits.

Life changing!
Very impressed with this. About five years ago I finally saw a dermatologist for my extremely dry skin. He recommended either t/sal or t/gel as well as a prescription cream that I had to keep on with a shower cap over night. Nothing improved so I quit both after about a month. (I don't think I used it properly, to be fair) I recently decided to give this a try again. Wow I so glad I did! After one use, I saw a difference. My scalp has been pure white as far as I can remember. If I scratch my forehead lightly flakes fall off. (Dandruff within my hair usually isn't a problem for me. My hairline is awful though) after my first wash my hairline was very improved, and I was able to wipe some flakes away. The best way to describe it is if you tan or sunburn and are able to rub away dead skin. It was similar to that. I was excited enough by this to go read reviews. One stated it was important to follow directions exactly. I've never been a lather, rinse, AND REPEAT person, so I noted to repeat from now on. The bottle says to keep on a few minutes minutes before rinsing, I followed another reviews suggestion to keep it on five minutes. I bought a dollar kitchen timer to make sure I did that. Day two showed more improvement. On today, day three, I really worked to get all over my scalp rather than concentrate on the worst part- hairline. I am so excited by the results! I don't recall my scalp every looking so good in my entire life. The downsides: 1) it's time consuming 2) I have long hair so it takes a Long time to rinse. It gets very matted and heavy. I use a lot of conditioner but still seem to lose an extra amount of hair when I brush my hair out after. Make sure to buy detangler. 3) expensive for a shampoo. It's cheaper elsewhere than Amazon, so keep that in mind. These downsides are very worth it in my opinion. Spend the $10 and you'll probably see great results. The worst that can happen is you're out $10. That's it!

Great price!!
This product is hard to come by, and even then it's usually overpriced at places like Target, or Walmart. So when I found it here on Amazon I was thrilled. Will definitely be buying again!

Is this from a Fire? Definitely NOT New!
This product came in a timely manner. I have used this product for several years. It was recommended by my dermatologist, and greatly reduces my particular flaking situation. I normally buy this at Walmart, for less than the $6 charged here, however they are no longer carrying it in my area. This shipment, however, is not satifactory, The bottles were not in the boxes that this product usually comes in. One of the bottles was not closed firmly, so there was shampoo all over the interior of the box. In addition, this is not "new", that is some of the bottles of shampoo smell odd and are darker than the others, and none appear the pale gold color and very light scent I am used to with this product. They may be from a fire or other type of second hand situation. I know from previous experience that shampoo can go "bad" just like anything else when kept too long or exposed to extreme temperatures, sunlight etc. If these are fire sale, close out, or other type of seconds it would have been good to know, and would have affected my decision. Not that I would not buy items from those situations, I have, but it would factor into the decision. I would not purchase this again from this seller, and probably will not purchase from this seller again since I feel there was deception in this sale. Too bad, they carry several items I normally buy.
