I was skeptical when I bought this because the door I'm using it on has a very strong spring to force it closed. But it works very well. Easy to install, simple, cheap. What more can you ask for?

This door holder definitely works! The only reason that I’m giving it 4 stars is because it holds my door open so tight. We purchased this because our Roomba goes into this particular room and pushes our door closed and then gets trapped – lol. However, the particular room that we put this in, our bathroom, has a lot of decorative pictures and embellishments hanging on the wall that the apartment is mounted to. This holder is so tight that one time upon trying to open the door, it literally shook the wall that it was mounted to causing one of my items to fall and come crashing to the ground breaking into smithereens. My husband was able to pry the abutment wider so that it doesn’t clasp quite so tight! If you want a door holder that clasps like the jaws of life than this is the door holder for you!

This was an exact product for the one that was installed in the home we bought eleven years ago. The eleven year one finally gave way when I broke the tab to the base board mount. After viewing other styles, I just decided to go with this one since it was tried and true. Easy to install, always catches with different degrees of force.

Sturdy, classic design that works better than some of the newer versions of stoppers. Holds firm and you can’t beat the price!
