Terro Spider and Insect Trap, Clear, Multicolor : desertcart.ae: Books Review: Don't buy doesn't work - Useless product Review: Two Month Update: It has now been nearly two months and I’ve placed these all over my home including the garage. Only one trap caught something and it was a single ant. All other traps are clean except for a few dust bunnies. I was very shocked that even the garage placed one didn’t catch anything whatsoever. I tried placing them in various places where they’d have the best chase of success but they apparently don’t work for me. And I do occasionally see a small spider or something around so it’s not like there’s nothing to catch. My home is very clean but the garage is detached and full of webs etc so I was highly shocked that that one caught nothing as well. Oh well maybe others will have better luck. Original Review: Well I’ve had them installed for a few days now and they’ve caught nothing. I placed 3 of these traps in different places and not a single thing has been trapped. I had a fly fly directly past it several times and never seemed interested. I have one in the garage where a sizable spider common crawls past my cameras and now that I put a trap there he apparently is ignoring his/her favorite route across my bicycle. The spider probably is the size of a quarter when including his legs. But while he has set off my motion cameras on several occasions walking across the bicycle hung just below my camera, now I haven’t gotten a single motion alert. So I guess it’s working by keeping it away but it’s probably just going a different way. Also that stupid fly has been driving crazy for days and these traps don’t seem to attract them. Maybe they only work with swarms of insects that just happen to run into them. I had hope they’d be attracted but no such luck. My home is very clean but this fly entered while I had a window open and now he annoys me at night by buzzing by me. I’ve tried to hit him with newspapers and towels but it’s the Top Gun of flies. And that spider in my garage is never visible when I go out there looking for him.

These spider traps are awesome. We have a lot of funky freaky big spiders where we live, and they are very good at managing to get inside, despite our best efforts. Pest #2 is crickets during the summer. They're like wizards they just manage to teleport in here in herds. Sure, if we can catch them in a paper cup, we toss them back outside. But a lot of them hide in the nooks and crannies and it's just chirp chirp chirp all night long. I just set these up along the wall in the recesses where nobody goes, like behind the toilet, under cabinets that are off the ground a few inches, inbetween two large pieces of furniture, behind the couch in the corner. At first I was checking them incessantly and I was disappointed. Like I expected every spider in the house to find the traps in the first 3 days. I forgot about them and some time a while later I came across one and I picked it up and peeked in, then yelped and almost dropped it because I didn't expect to see anything at all and there were a bunch of big dead spiders in there. And a cricket. Excited, I went around the house checking all of the other ones and it was bugs bugs bugs. I couldn't believe it. These things are great and I just set them up and forget about them for months, tossing and replacing a few times a year. UPDATE (12/3/18): We had a cricket decide to try to move into the chimney since we never use the fireplace. I thought cricket chirping couldn't possibly get any more annoying, but it turns out that the acoustics in a dusty old chimney do that job just fine. I read somewhere online that you can put a little sprinkle of cornmeal on the center of a glue trap like this and it lures them right to it. It seriously worked like a charm! I put the cornmeal on one of the traps already sitting around (little spoonful right in the center) and stuck it on the floor of the fireplace along the edge, went to bed (with the door closed the the fan on to drown out the noisy little turd) and when I checked the trap in the morning, the cricket problem was solved. I probably could have left the cornmeal trap out instead of throwing it away, but I had visions of hordes of crickets flying in toward the cornmeal playing Ride of the Valkyries so I tossed it in the trash. UPDATE 2022: “Snakes! It HAD to be snakes!” Still goin strong with these terro traps all these years - still catching monster spiders but now also centipedes (I didn’t even know we HAD centipedes!!!) and today a big meaty scary snake. A SNAKE!! That was INSIDE!! PS: pre-fold these badboys with the nonstick paper still on, then peel off the paper and it’s a cinch to lock them into place.

I'm in a house that's over 50 years old, very clean but with a small moisture issue in the basement that I just bought a pump dehumidifier for. Had a manual-dump dehumidifier for years before but it doesn't seem to remove enough moisture. I reference this as this is the only reason why I can see that I'd have an issue with spiders down there; it's not major, but there's enough (I can find about one a day during Spring) that it's a problem. So I put a half dozen of these in the spots I've seen them. They have caught some huge ones. Where these things are coming from is SO puzzling, as there are minimal ways to enter from the outside and most everything is off the floors on rollers/etc., mostly organized and as clean as a basement can be. In other words, few places for them to hide. Once I see something trapped on one of these things I use a paper towel to grab the sticky part and squash the catch as quickly as possible; I really don't like killing things in general, and I'm hoping that the spiders/silverfish/etc that get stuck on these die as quickly as possible, I don't want them struggling... ...Well... I saw a wolf spider caught on one one day. I had a horrible back issue and couldn't bend under the sink area to get to it immediately... The next day I could...BUT...THE WOLF SPIDER WAS GONE FROM THE TRAP. A medium sized one this time. I was absolutely shocked. These strips are kinda like those wax hair-removal strips. In fact, I assumed that's basically what they are, re-purposed. So, VERY sticky. I could NOT believe the spider was gone. I am the only one in the house. There is no other explanation except that it escaped the sticky part. I am continuing to use the strips with success, and they do seem to have reduced the problem by a solid 90% or so. Ended up catching at least a dozen wolf spiders, some very large (over a couple inches including their legs in a few instances...really horrifying things, even tho I understand they're beneficial in many ways. I can't tolerate them in my home). SO: it's a worthwhile product, but I'm checking on the strips frequently now and will make sure the catches are killed asap, also because apparently they can actually escape, which leads me to believe they're not dying quickly, which I'd much rather be the case. I'd ask the manufacturer if perhaps there's a way to help ensure they're killed when they get stuck, perhaps a natural food-based killer (like boric acid for ants, roaches, etc.) of some sort. Altho I'd rather not use anything toxic, I think in a case like this where it's so contained, it might make a good option for many of us to help ensure they don't escape, that they die quickly, and therefore completely effective.

Used these before and they work very well. The only thing I don’t like is that their difficult to fold into a tent shape (they can be used flat) especially if your not good putting things together. That being said however, the folding them into a tent shape instructions kinda suck. And when handling them do your self a favor and avoid touching the glue side . They are sooo sticky, even if they weren’t poisonous to insects they’d still die. Should you get the gluey sticky on your hand/s use rubbing Alcohol and a decent dish soap together simultaneously under very warm water to get it off your hand/s Cont.. Sept4th. I was under the impression that these traps were poisonous, because as well as being as sticky as they are, they smell like chemicals. However upon looking at the package, they apparently aren't toxic. But that being said, I'd still recommend not touching the sticky side, and be sure your pet doesn't mess with the trap. You probably wouldnt want to find Sylvester cat, or Fido dog, trying to pull one off their paw with their teeth. And then have to chase them down when it stuck to their tongues.

Easy to use. Catches the bugs.
