Game changer for my 82 year old mum as it’s so light for her.

It's A Carpet Sweeper With Suction
It really is lightweight, it is also very compact with the telescopic handle down. Not as loud as most electric motors of its size, certainly no need to turn the TV up. It picks up everything except large or heavy items that no one in their right mind would use a vacuum cleaner for in the first place, let alone one designed to clear up small bits between proper cleanings. The dust bags are tiny and my first one was full in no time, so I pulled the contents out and refitted it. I do wish I had worn a mask. Now it is nearly full again and the battery is still on its first charge. It shows how efficient it is but the seven bags per year suggestion is a bit disingenuous. To address a couple of other reviewers complaints: Re the two year warranty, there is a Gtech web address on the front of the machine for warranty information and problem solving. Go to them. The Amazon return date is for people who have changed their minds about an unopened product. Amazon will still replace faulty goods if you persevere and find out which desk customer services are currently hiding under. As for the roller popping out, a simple read of the manual will tell you that the roller is designed to pop out when it's overloaded with hair. The button will pop out and roller stops spinning as it becomes disengaged from the motor spindle. In my case the roller was overloaded so quickly that the clip holding it in was rotated and the roller jumped out of the side of the machine. Remove the roller from the machine by rotating the clip to "Unlocked", clean it using the supplied hair cutter and comb and then push it back into the machine and rotate the clip to "locked". It is battery powered. It uses a rechargeable lithium battery. You have to charge it when it "won't start up". Plug the supplied charger unit into a wall socket outlet. Plug the charger lead into the back of the battery. Wait until the green G on the battery stops flashing and shows solid green.

Good Enough Second Vacuum.
Bought the Gtech HyLite 2 just to have a small, lightweight vacuum cleaner for small clean ups. Its nice and compact. Powerful enough to pick up most crumbs etc. Battery gives around 20 minutes of cleaning, sufficient for a quick tidy up. It's better than our previous cordless vac from Beldray. Definitely not built for deep cleaning but it serves its purpose well. We have a different machine for that. Was purchased at £67.50 so very good value at that price. Most retailers are still £150.

Awesome
Awesome, there's nothing else to say. But I'll say it anyway. Amazing carpet cleaner, suitable for a one - two bedroom house or flat if not more. I've had a pull along vacuum cleaner for around 20 years and it's still as powerful as the day I purchased it. But it became a hassle to get it out for my tiny one bedroom flat. I wanted something I could scoot around the flat, light weight, easy storage. Don't mind understand me, my pull along will always be here as it reaches the ceiling and nooks, but for that quick hoover around the flat this little compact Amazing vacuum does the job . Carpet, wooden floors , laminate flooring, furniture, stairs. This little vacuum does it all. Charge it and go, no annoying cable's to snag or trip over, noise level is a bit loud, but it should be , it sucks all the dust and bits .value for money. Despatch was very prompt. Would definitely buy another for a family member. Totally recommended

Great functionally but lacks power
The started off as a promising hoover, really light and managed to pick up more than you expect for its size. However, it has stares to loose it power pretty quickly, it is already questionable at picking up . It has great functionality with the build in duster, and the telescopic handle. It is okay for basic cleaning tasks. But would not be likely to resolve our main wires hoover. It is good as a little hoover to just run round for quick tasks.

Great results from
Arrived yesterday, used this morning, this is a little beast of a hoover for its size. Downside the bag fills up quickly but I had been using for about 20mins.. the downside is worth the effort for the results you get.. P.S. it tells you not to reuse the dust bag ( I have even though I have replacements) results were just the same.. I’d say you could reuse 3 or 4 times but that’s just my opinion.. you make your own mind up.. highly recommend this little beast, light weight, easy to put together and easy to use., oh the duster attached is a brilliant idea for skirting boards

Very disappointed
Product arrived on time, very easy to assemble, went to charge the battery but instead of flashing green it was flashing red. According to the manual it said that I needed to ring Gtech support. They said that the battery was faulty and were sending me a new one which would arrive the next day. It did indeed arrive the next day and when I plugged it in this time there was no light at all! Rang Gtech (again) spoke to a very unhelpful advisor who I felt didn't want to be troubled by me, she said that it wasn't the battery, it was the charger, so she's going to send me a new one but it will take 7/10 days before it arrives, why I said that means I can't use it! She then talked down to me and said that this time she'll have it courier delivered for the next day, but she insisted on saying that she wouldn't do that again, is she expecting it to still not work? I then received an email confirming part delivery but she sent to the wrong address! So, back on the phone again to speak to someone else who "hopefully" has got it right and the charger will turn up here today, but I'm not holding my breath! Cleaner was delivered Thursday (11 April) and I'm still waiting to be able to use it, Saturday (13 April), I can't actually review the cleaner because I can't use it yet, but my review is, I hope that it finally works but Gtech Customer Support is appalling and would not recommend at all UPDATE New battery did arrive and yes the machine now works (hooray!) Actually it’s a very good little vacuum cleaner, very light and from what I’ve seen so far I’m very pleased HOWEVER I am not changing my score, as no matter how good your product is having bad customer support is not acceptable. I think that if you happen to be lucky enough to get a fully working machine and never have a need to contact Gtech then you’ll be very pleased but if you do need to contact them then good luck - you’ll need it! FURTHER UPDATE 24 April, the handle has broken, will not not lock into the upright position! Spoke to Gtech Customer Support who said that they will send be a new machine, am I really that unlucky?

LOVE IT - superlight delight to use for whizzing around quickly each day!
LOVE IT! was a bit dubious about buying G-Tech, wondered if they we're just another Dyson type company (declare their great, but not great at all). This little vacuum arrived just an hour ago and I love it. It is the lightest vacuum I have ever used and it sucks great. I dread vacuuming, pushing the heavy sucking machine around, it wears me out, but this is so light and manoeuvres so easily, it's a game changer. I have had many different makes of vacuums in my 40 years of keeping house - Miele (x 2) Sebo (x 2) Vax (x at least 4). I had a cordless Vax Onepower Blade 4 Pet, I thought this would be great for using on the days between the big vacuum. I thought it would be light and easy to quickly run around the house - it wasn't. I found it quite heavy in the hand as the battery is high up just near the handle. I didn't use it as much as I hoped and, even though usage was minimal, the battery stopped charging after about a year. They sent a free replacement, but that also stopped charging after about 18 months. I ended up throwing the Vax Onepower Blade away as I didn't want to buy any new batteries for it as it was never the lightweight vacuum that would be easy to whiz around with that I had wished for. Back to this little G-Tech - I did hesitate in buying it as it has bags, which is an extra ongoing cost (I think you can get 15 bags direct from G-Tech for £12.99, and they say that they will last around a year on average). Having received and used this little dream vacuum, I don't care if I have to change the bag every week - it's that lovely and light to use. Oh, and it's got headlights and a sort of feather duster thing. It folds up so small, will hardly take any space to store. The components all click together nicely, seems really well made. Oh and the brush comes out so easy to clean. You probably wouldn't want to just have this vacuum on it's own as it doesn't have any attachments or hoses to clean the edges etc, but it makes a wonderful everyday whizaround vacuum. I am going to try and find another at a good price for my caravan (got this one as Used - Acceptable direct from Amazon) other than it didn't come in the original box, everything looks new and I saved myself over £47. It also has a little comb thing to clean the brush with a blade in it to cut through any hair wrapped around the brush. You can charge the vacuum direct, or remove the tiny battery to charge. You just have a charging plug and cable, no bulky charging station to store somewhere - another bonus. As I've only just got this I can't comment on how long it will go on one battery charged, but I have just vacuumed all around my house (2 bed bungalow) and it was fine. So to summarize - it's a superlight, whizzy around, well made, tiny to store - and quite quiet too.
