Zippered Padfolio with 10.1 Inch Tablet Sleeve and 8.5x11" Notepad

I remember when I was a kid in the 1970’s buying my first binders and my first portfolio. They were manufactured by Samsill. I was very happy with the appearance and functionality. They never needed to be replaced all through school. Used the portfolio for years then gave it to my sister. It lasted a lot longer than I ever expected it too. When I turned 29, I went back to college for a career change and needed a portfolio. I was so happy to find SamSill still available so naturally that was my purchase. I still have it today. It looks like new and every zipper and clasp works fine. I am 59 years old now. I find myself needing an additional portfolio; which they call them padfolios now. To my delight, Samsill is still in business and still makes them. I purchased this padfolio to fill my needs. It is the same quality material and craftsmanship as the others I’ve owned. I’m sure it will still be in great condition when I’m 6’ under. when I was looking through Amazon at my options I found some padfolios with fancy features or in a pretty black box for gift presentation but all in the same price range as my Samsill. Then I read the reviews and found quality inconsistencies with each of those. There were no questions about the quality of the Samsill products. This made me curious about the company that seems to have been around as long as I have. I decided to look up Samsill and see what they are about. Samsill has been around since the 1950’s and is located right here in the USA. It is so rare to find anything made in the US these days that it put a smile on my face that they are still going strong and making quality products.

Nice Size - Not Pocket Sized. As a server and restaurant worker, I manage to keep it behind my back when I am out and about... so I feel like I am still working now lol. My Biggest gripe - is the Pen Holder on the Right Side. It folds into the 5x8 Notepad. So it does rub against my hand as I write and slide my hand to the right. Not the end of the world, I tried to "retrain it" to fold to the outside or straight up, but the way its stitched into the leather its going to keep folding inward. Probably will end up cutting it. (Again, It could be a me thing) I have a 6x9.5 cambridge Notefolio and I do not have this issue, pen holder is in the same place, so it might be something with the small size. However it fits a 5x8 Legal Pad as a restaurant server, a server book is just too small for a 5x8 Legal pad.... Sadge. I do like the size though, I like the business card/notes holder and the little side pocket for keeping notes for archiving later. Overall decent book feels nice to hold doesn't feel like plastic compared some other books I've held. I wouldn't buy again because of the pen holder issue- honestly never really thought about it being an issue, but its a bothersome for me. Quality of the Product is nice, nicer than expected, Not Pocket size, but easy to carry. Good but Not Great.

Before buying this wonderful padfolio, I carried around a bulky multi-compartment folder and a laptop in my backpack for school. I had so many papers in my folder, but sometimes I just needed a few, and other times I just needed some lined paper for quick notes. This is the perfect addition to my... work/school/office/productivity 'gear'. Let me explain what I use it for. -When needed to take notes, I just whip this thing open and start writing on the legal pad. The pad holder works great, by the way. -When I need to hold a few papers, I stick them into the paper holding compartment (note that it can hold about 80 MAX, so quite a bit) -When I have a receipt, a small sheet, or a business card to hold on to, I put it into the mini pocket. -I keep a 6 inch ruler in the smallest pocket. -When I'm not at a desk, I use it as a clipboard to write on. This thing is amazing for what it does. For what it is, I can't really find any flaws. Very solid construction. Leather feels great. I've already received many compliments on its look. I've even spilled porridge (I think it's porridge) on the leather, and it cleans very easily with water and wipe. TO MAKE THIS THING AMAZING: Get a Fisher Space Pen with Clip. It fits PERFECTLY on the pen holder in the side. The pen itself is amazing, and when capped, it's barely 3.5 inches long. I have the chrome version, and it completes the sharp, professional look of the clipboard. Whenever I need to jot some quick notes down, I open this up, and take out my pen from the penholder and start writing. It's great (I feel like a dork writing this, but trust me it's actually amazing with this pen). HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. A little expensive, but I give you my word that it's worth every penny. Every student with paperwork should have one of these.

really bad quality, not „letter“-size Paper but A4. Paper is very, very cheap. Don‘t know what kind of pen would not bleed on that - pencil perhaps. I wonder how all the fantastic reviews come together. In this case I would rather not have bought it. Stinks and is terrible to touch. You get what you pay for. Never again. Should I send it back - and spend more time with it? Or just throw away, and see it as lesson learned?

This JR Padfolio does as it needs to. It will fold back on itself with one caveat being you must keep some pressure on the folder which in my case isn't a big deal. Holds a folded 8.5x11 Sheet in the side pocket.

Very good quality. It's hard to find an affordable one that ticks all the boxes for what I need. This one does all of it except the placement of the pen holder. It is next to the zipper and I find I cannot use it as it interferes. No big deal, but it was one feature I really wanted to have. Not a deal breaker as the rest of it is fantastic.
