Q: Sorry newbioe here - if the shaft is 2inchs long then i'm guessing a 1.5 inch cbn will fit (5/8 arbor) - correct?

Correct it will fit. I had to do some light sanding to remove some minor surface gunk and improve the fit on the arbor to get the cbn to fit. (600 grit on a board against the running motor’s arbor) Additionally I added the pair of matching domed washers to improve centering of the wheel.

Q: Where are the mounting holes located? Are there one per side or two?

The Rikon Slow Speed Grinder has one mounting hole on each side. The spacing is 6 1/4" center to center of the holes.

Q: Why did this just go from about $120.00 to 185.00 in just a few days? Was going to buy but way cheaper elseware

No way in the world I would pay over $100 for this. Its probably a vendor just taking a chance at a high sales price when a cheaper vendor dropped out.
