My 7 year old loved it. She made some cool color combinations. So easy to combine colors and not at all messy. She has played with them everyday making different shapes like clay and sometimes it's her "fidget putty." They also bounce great just like silly putty does. I like this better than the pre-mixed silly putty. I bought both to compare and very happy with crazy Aaron thinking putty vs tge original silly putty abd getting to mix your own colors verry fun for the kids. I can see this also being fun and therapeutic for adults too. You can mix all at once or wait and do a few every time and the tins it stores in are nice just don't overfill them or they will stick together and be hard to open.

Highly recommend. It's a great kit with a durable mixing mat with tips, 5 'blank' tins filled with clear putty, and an altoid sized tin with 6 packets of 'mix-ins' (concentrated red, blue, yellow, glow, sparkle, and shimmer putty) to create your own unique colors. Also has extra blank stickers and colored pencils for decorating and naming tins. My kids made a green glow putty, a "lava" orange, a purple "galaxy" putty, a shimmery blue they called "bullet train" and an aqua blue ish. There was plenty of each mix in so each tin ended up filled to the top. Once they finished mixing they decorated their tins, and they've been playing with the putty all evening. My only tip would be to only add the glow to one or 2 and only lighter colors. Our green glows great but we added a little bit to the lava and didn't get any glow from it. Probably the best craft kit I've ever purchased, will purchase again, highly recommend.

This product is very cool, because it allows people to make their own putty creations, with lots of different options. It comes with a variety of 'putty-enhancers', including 5 tins of clear putty, that are all awesome in their own ways. It comes with good amounts of the basic colors, (red, blue and yellow) and the special putties (glow putty, shimmer putty, and sparkle putty). The only issues with this product was that the putties were slighter tougher than I would prefer, and also, the fact that they give a bit more putty than can fit in the five containers, so if you use all the given putty, your going to have to put the rest in ziplock bags.

My daughter has lots of the big tins of Aarons putty! She wanted to get the make your own, as she is into making all kinds of Gak and putty. She loved this product, had fun making and naming her putty. There are so many combination you could use. I do wish they had a refill kit that you could buy to make more once the 5 tins are gone. She was so excited that it went pretty fast :-) I'm thinking we can use our liquid glass putty to use up our special effects putty left over. I do see us buying a few more of these kits in the very near future. It is a great project for kid, not messy and even I had fun doing it with her. I would recommend this to all my friends. Made here in the USA and its just an amazing product.

I have read numerous reviews about the Mixed By Me Thinking Putty Kit, by Crazy Aarons. I can agree with most people by saying that this kit is really fun, and imaginative. You can spend hours trying to perfect your putty creations and recipes. This kit is fun for adults too, who enjoy simplistic activities, and sensory play. Although this kit ranges on the pricier end, the experience and ability to make 5 unique tins of putty are ultimately worth it. Overall, I would definitely purchase this product again, and cannot wait to try the Hypercolor version of this kit.

Bought two kits for a (third grade) class craft because the thought of making slime seemed really messy. This kit was AWESOME. I’m excellent at procrastinating so even though I meant to get out one of the kits and figure it out beforehand, I never did. However, it was very easy to use, labeled well, and was just perfect. I wish it was slightly cheaper (bought for around twenty per kit) and that it came with a little more glow in the dark additive, but I’d absolutely buy this again. Loved that it came with individual tins! And that it wasn’t messy at ALL. A+

Very small amount of putty in this package. The packaging to Putty ratio was way off. Mostly cardboard and throw away plastic in this set compared to how much actual putty ther was. See pics. I advised buying something else.

My daughter wanted thinking putty after her teacher had it. So I bought this set which is cool because she could make her own. It's not just colors either, it's neat shimmery and glitter and glow in the dark effects. Very cool. Each one gets its own tin that they can color a sticker for too. The tins are very small, about an inch or so in diameter. She left some out and it got stuck in her fleece blanket. Rubbing alcohol dissolved it completely. So that color putty was completely obliterated, but the blanket was fine after a washing. I gave only four stars cuz the tins are really small.

We had a lot of fun making this putty set. Younger kids may need some parents help. This isn’t a big set and comes with small containers to make your different kinds and colours of putty which is really neat. You can then store them in your own little jars to keep them as your own for later use. We did this so long ago, well over a year ago and you can still play with all of the putty. Pretty cool if you ask me.

idea is good but over prized

Not great value in my opinion. I bought this for my 11 year old son's birthday. He had fun with it for about an hour but there's not much to do with it once you've mixed the 5 small containers. If it was half the price I would rate it higher & maybe buy it again.

Not worth the money at all. The 5 tins of putty had about a teaspoon in each tin. Maybe for half the price it might be worth it. Dont waist your money.
