I do a good amount of cooking on my Weber using various techniques and for the most part, I like lump char wood. The problem is a bunch of it ends up wasted as dust. Some of it ends up too small, etc. This vast size difference can lead to uneven heating or a coals that go out too early in the process. I’ve been trying various formed char woods and I think this is the one I’m going with.The price is a bit premium and you don’t get a ton in each box, but the heat level is great, the burn time is very long with consistent heat throughout most of the burn, and the burn is very complete. All that’s ever left is grey dust. I can really control my grilling, smoking, searing, etc with this stuff. Also you don’t get the nasty charcoal flavor imparted.

I have been experimenting with different wood and briquettes for my smoker. These light easy enough and most important lasted a long time. The smoker is my own DIY creation from an old 20 gallon air compressor tank. The smoke gave a good flavor to the meat. Definitely worth the money.

Returned. Incorrect item for electric smoker.

It’s fine. Kingsford, B&B stuff like that is better. I’d say it compares well to always save or something like that.

This is a comment on the briquettes. It burns hot and flavourful, but if you want to reuse leftover charcoal, it crumbles to the touch and cannot be used again.

This product takes time to burn but once it ignites, it burns out really quick
