I noticed there weren't any recent reviews of this product so I was even more compelled to write one as I typically do not take the time to do so out of simple laziness. However, this micronized BP has been absolutely life changing for me and I've only been using it for a week. To provide some background, I am a 30F with PCOS who has suffered with moderate to severe acne all my life (since the age of 13), along with rosacea, and combo to oily skin (I have my asian genetics to thank for that) which clogs very easily even if I am using "non-comedogenic" products. More background: I have been on a myriad of acne treatments from OTC, medical-grade med-spa products, birth control, prescription spironolactone, topical retin-a, duac, epiduo, winlevi, (I could go on...) OH yeah and I almost forgot to mention prescription ACCUTANE, which I have been on THREE TIMES (yes, I am not joking, I just finished my third round this past February of 2025 when I turned 30!) Anyways, because my acne is deeply rooted to my hormonal imbalance aka PCOS, once Accutane is no longer actively in my bloodstream suppressing my oil production my acne ALWAYS comes back and this time unfortunately it came back faster than I expected, 6 months to be exact. Feeling defeated I decided to do some research and found out about micronized formulated products. I ended up coming across this product on my own while I was browsing on amazon and decided to give this product a chance. I had low expectations to begin with because my skin is usually very resilient to topical products and I have also tried BP 10% from different OTC brands throughout my life (i.e., face reality, panoxyl) and none of them were never really effective at controlling my acne or oil production consistently, but like I said at this point I was desperate so I "added to cart." Characteristics: The texture is gel like and non-gritty compared to most BP products which usually have that grainy feel. To me there is absolutely no fragrance and it applied and absorbed very quickly! Application/Results: The first night I tried this product I applied a thin layer focusing on my t-zone after my usual skincare routine (double cleanse, toner, serum, moisturizer). I was worried that I would wake up the next day with more active breakouts or irritation as my skin would normally do, but when I woke up the next morning I was pleasantly surprised. My active breakouts on my chin and around other areas of my t-zone had seem to flatten out and I was relieved to find no new breakouts. I decided to wear this product to work under my makeup to see how it would preform, so I used less than a pea-sized amount and mixed it with a thicker moisturizer (AESTURA Atobarrier 365 Cream) then proceeded with my usual "oil-defying" makeup routine which includes a silicone primer, huda beauty easy bake loose powder, AND one-size setting spray, all of which still fails to keep me entirely matte after a 8 hour shift. However, the day that I applied this product I stayed MATTE for my entire shift which really only happens when I am actively taking Accutane, so I was utterly shook and quite speechless. I continued to test the product over the next few days and isolated it in my routine to make sure that the improvement in my skin wasn't related to another product in my skincare routine. Within a WEEK my skin has made a complete 180, all my active hormonal breakouts cleared up within days and my usual oily skin actually feels NORMAL, a skin type I only get to experience when I am taking Accutane. Therefore, I can say with confidence that this micronized 5% benzoyl peroxide is officially my new holy grail and I only hope and pray that my skin does not become desensitized to it overtime because I haven't encountered a topical product that my acne-prone skin has taken so well to in years! Cons: The only cons for me personally is one, the price (which honestly isn't too bad considering the amount I have spent on other treatments and products in the past) and that it can be way TOO DRYING if you use too much of it, you’re not moisturizing well afterwards, or using it along side harsh actives such as retinoids or BHA/AHAs. I would definitely recommend skin cycling this product if your skin is more sensitive and if you are using prescription retinoids. If you have normal to dry skin acne prone skin this product may be too overly drying or irritating for you and would probably work best as a spot treatment or I would recommend mixing it in with a thick moisturizer at a 2:1 ratio. With that being said, a little definitely goes a long way so despite the price being a bit up there, in my opinion it should still last you a long time! Overall, not only did this product help get rid of my active breakouts, it cleared up the closed comedones and blackheads I had around my nose as a result of my excessive oil production which no amount of BHA/AHA/glycolic acid was helping with! I wish I could provide before and after pictures but when my skin is going through a rough period I tend to avoid taking photos or even looking in the mirror with all the lights on (I know my fellow acne sufferers can relate). Therefore, if you are a fellow combo to very oily skin type please give this product a chance and I can only hope that you end up having the same positive results as I have had! Miracle worker! I have struggled with hormonal break outs my whole life. Black heads tio. After 2days of using this, my skin cleared up dramatically. Which was just mind blowing to me because nothing ever worked. I've spent sooo much money on other things, wasted money. I also struggle with oily skin too. This leaves a soft matte clear smooth finish every time. I wash my face, apply alittle vitamin E oil on my face to help not dry my skin out too much, then I apply this. No primer needed because this works very well as a primer under foundation. I'll be buying this for a very long time! I have very fair very sensitive skin too.

* Easy, mess-free application because of creamy consistency and wide opening. You can gradually squeeze out this product and control the amount. * Invisible on skin, no streaks of white * I used Paula's Choice for years but found its runny consistency completely exasperating and very messy to apply. Also, the opening frequently clogged, resulting in an explosion of ointment when the necessary force was applied to squeeze it free. * Having tired of cleaning up the Paula's Choice Benzoyl Peroxide, I decided to try this one instead. It is the best that I have ever found in the 5% formulation, which is much scarcer than the 10% one. The 10% is too irritating for me. * 5 stars for ease of application and high quality.

This product has worked incredibly for any pop-up acne that appears overnight or throughout the day. It keeps pimples from completely forming if you apply it early enough, and also works to shrink already formed pimples. It hasn’t worked as well for my persisting acne though.

This is the best benzoyl peroxide product I have used; it is effective without bleaching my pillows and is the least drying.

I'm late 20s and I have horrible breakouts around my chin and jawline. I had deep cystic acne and after using this for a couple days, I could not feel it anymore. Like, nothing ever seems to work for me! I think this product is particularly good for the whiteheads and cysts that are not yet visible. I definitely still have a couple visible ones, but I do think they're clearing faster, are smaller, and are not as tender. I was using a 10% otc benzyol peroxide, but was not seeing results. Even though this is 5%, it works dramatically better. I'm a fan of Glytone's products. I highly suggest the 4% hydroquinone to help fade scars and brighten complexion, but you'll have to buy it through a specialist. The sulfur mask is good too for shrinking pimples.
