It is about building financial wealth by yourself..not hiring finance managers..and building a portfolio of stocks and bonds using exchange trade funds. It is not the end how much money you earn every month but about investing what you can personally month and building a portfolio for financial freedom and taking a draw down from it. Of course the principles in it can also be used if one has a lump sum..how to invest it and take income.it is written in an easy to understand manner. I bought the very first edition..and all others. Review: Should be taught in schools - This book is entertaining and easy to read.. it’s not a boring book on investing. It makes sense of complicated subject and has totally changed my view on how I invest. This should be taught in schools as most adults are lost when I comes to how to manage their money and grow wealth. Well done and thanks to Andrew Hallam.

Simple, honest guidance you should follow
If you are an expat, you should read this book. Whatever your position, current wealth, this book will ensure you keep and grow what is yours and not let someone else make a living off your money. Simple and easy to read and easy to apply. Lots of examples and scenarios to help you find the right path for you.

Excellent guide for international expats
As a long time expat I found this very useful on a number of fronts. Whilst there's aspects that any savvy investor might already know, this book encompasses a holistic framework, covering all bases (some of which I would not have put together myself). Useful suggestions around companies / advisors to consider. I've since read all of Andrew's other books and currently enjoying Balance. A must read for expats trying to thread it all together (an under-served sector where there are plenty wolves to avoid).

An expat essential
I cannot recommend this book enough to expats looking for simple, factual investment advice. As expats, we are often sitting ducks for ill-advised or unqualified financial advisors to exploit. This book is truly empowering, enlightening and cuts through the industry jargon. No more BS, no more expensive gambles with your hard earned savings, this book will equip you to take control. Andrew is an industry disrupter and I for one am grateful for it!

Great Wake-Up Call, Weak Follow-Through
Millionaire Expat does a solid job explaining one of the most important — and often hidden — dangers facing investors abroad: excessive fees. The book is particularly strong at exposing how some offshore investment products and international advisers quietly erode returns through layers of charges that compound over time. On this point, the message is clear, useful, and well supported. However, the book undermines its own argument in later chapters. After rightly criticising high-fee investment structures, it goes on to recommend advisory firms that typically charge around 1% (or more) annually. While this may be lower than the worst offshore products, it still represents a significant drag on long-term returns — and feels contradictory given the book’s earlier stance on fee minimisation. More problematic is accessibility. Many of the recommended firms only accept clients with $1 million or more to invest. As a result, the book increasingly reads as guidance for people who are already wealthy, rather than those trying to build their first million. This creates a mismatch between the book’s implied audience and its practical recommendations.

Best book ever.. the new edition has more information for specific countries and even suggests where you can go for help. I just wish I'd connected with Andrew decades ago.

A great book full of fantastic advice. Andrew's book has given us some direction on how we can feel finally secure after being Expats for nearly 2 decades and watching our investments drop like raindrops during a flood.
