My 4-month-old granddaughter went into a fit of laughter when she saw me and her 11-year-old aunt playing with it with her 1-year-old cousin. I did find that it only works well on hard floor, not carpet. I bought this when my son was 5 months old it took me a few tries to figure out there are buttons on the side that supposedly switch on the "returning" function... then it took me way longer to realize that i had to roll it a specific way to get it to return... and that my baby wouldn't prob ever be able to do that. So it's just another ball, save your money.BTW- he's 14mo now and still can't roll it the proper way to get it to return.
