Is this s expresso brown?

It is very dark! I got chocolate seat covers and this is a tad darker...not black, but the darkest of brown.

Is this somewhat water repellent?

Somewhat .. I've used a wet towel or disinfecting wipe to clean. I wouldn't put them in the wash though. I use them indoors, not sure if you were asking about rain water if you're planning on using outdoors.
