Good for inspiration and beginners like me.
I feel very late to the prepping mindset and it’s stressing me out. This book was written with honesty and humility in that the author is also not 4000% prepped and he’s genuine with his concerns. I appreciate that. It’s an easy read and covers a lot of important topics that I failed to consider beforehand. It’s very general and has helpful insights on his website. So you can make your own plans according to your family dynamic and needs. It’s a good read. Insightful and written well. I’d recommend it to another beginner prepper. It really gets your mind working for what you need to consider when things will begin to fall apart. And after the Yale study I read. It’s going to fall apart.Be safe. Dear reader.

Highly Organized and Extremely Helpful! Good Basic Advice All In One Place!
If you are looking for a handy book with lots of information all in one place, this is a good guidebook. It will get you thinking about what you would do if the electricity goes off and you would have to find ways to heat food or boil water. There is also a list of things to stock up on like beans, canned meats, crackers, nuts, protein powder and of course cookies. After reading this book I also bought another can opener and I've stocked up on some shelf-stable meals. I also looked around for a solar powered lantern which looks great for all sorts of applications. With how the weather is these days you never know when there will be a real emergency. I got this book for that reason not because I think the world is ending. You don't have to believe that for this book to be extremely useful. Most people are not prepared for emergencies so it is a good idea to think ahead. I found this book to be highly organized too! It is great to have all this information in one place so I don't have to go searching all over to find it. That is the advantage of having this book!~The Rebecca Review

clear, practical and well written
I’m very glad to have this set of books. They are clearly written, practical and helpful. Damien obviously struggles with the same issues I do in prioritizing what to do first and where to spend resources. His suggestions make sense and I appreciate his sharing of his own challenges and resources. Damien has a generous spirit and I like that he offers specific suggestions on books and resources with an easy way to locate them. Thank you, Damien. I hope we can develop a community of people like you in these challenging times.

Like reading a grocery list. Ugh!
The author spends no time whatsoever discussing what will actually happen in the first days of a collapse of any sort, just plunges into how you should get ready. It's fairly obvious he's read numerous other books on how to prepare and not many books on how to make a book interesting because this book is very dull, like reading a grocery list. Buy this, buy this, buy that, get this, get that, do this, do that, and all of it is geared toward young people who are strong and healthy, have lots of spare money and spare storage space, and a group of like-minded, equally capable friends with whom to form a community. This book is almost a complete waste of money except that it does serve as a sort of wish list for when you win the lottery jackpot.

great book
I am new to prepping (I started late 2019) and had to learn on the fly last year. This book has given me some helpful ideas, helped me fill in some areas I was lacking and provided a checklist on his website. Although not a very big book but he is direct and to the point.
