I do not have a terrible all over acne but get the occasional pimple and sometimes those deep ones that live under the skin for a long time and hurt but never comes to a head. I have been using this daily for 2 years now. I still get the occasional mild pimple which I can use a patch on but my cluster of pimples and the deep ones only happen 1-2 times a year instead of monthly as they used to. A combination of using this plus washing my face one time per a day with soap and one time with just water has really changed my complexion. I also have very sensitive skin and tough acne creams cause my skin to get red and flakey. This is gentle enough since it does not have alcohol in it.

It has not been quite a week, but I am already impressed with how this product is working! I have used CeraVe products for years and my skin has looked wonderfully healthy, but a recent life change has resulted in a resurgence of stubborn hormonal acne. Within a week of using this 2-3 times a day, everything is almost cleared. This is just as wonderful as all other CeraVe products!

I have nothing but positive things to say about every CeraVe product I’ve ever used. This stuff works super well when you have a few pimples or a full blown breakout. Dried pimples up in a day or two without over drying your skin, but do be cautious. Only use when you need it and only until the breakout is gone. This is not an every day use product. It doesn’t hurt, despite being alcohol based on a sensitive area of the face. It’s got all the good stuff in it to fight the breakout while still working to restore your skins barrier and prevent future breakouts.

Quick acting product that doesn’t dry me out even using twice daily. No burning, no bad smell. Wish I tried soon. Note: only used on small spots here and there. Can’t vouch for cystic acne.

I was desperate to find something to help my acne. It was hormonal. It was cystic. It was “normal” acne. It was “bacne”. All in one. And so consistent. I used to use ZapZyt which was the only product I could find that worked. And then it just, stopped working once I started taking Testosterone. Nothing worked. No hemp cleanser, no Neutrogena Salicylic Acid cleanser, no Salicylic Acid exfoliating bar. No African Black Soap. Nothing. I used this in conjunction with the SA acne clearing cleanser by CeraVe as well, however, I can tell you where I know it’s this gel. I’ve been using the cleanser for my bacne as well as my face. And Wow. Again. Nothing was helping with that even a smidge until this cleanser. Now I have actual hope and I could wear a tank top without feeling self-conscious. BUT, it’s still not perfect. My bacne isn’t gone. HOWEVER, my face? From using this gel??? It’s helped wonders. My cystic acne is going away. I’ve only had tiny white heads in 2 places. My redness has gone down so much. I have combination skin. Some places are slicker than grease and others are drier and developing fine lines. And this stuff is not only moisturizing, but balancing. I hadn’t felt like there was any other option but Il Makiage’s foundation. Which I sought out because of how bad my acne was. It had been atrocious for a whole year and I was really at a place where I was ready to give up on having clear skin. But in one last and final desperate attempt, I splurged on this when my debt really was telling me not to. And I don’t regret it because of it’s results. So if you have the money, if you have these issues, I’m begging you to give it a shot. Hydrating Ingredients: The inclusion of ceramides and niacinamide helps maintain my skin barrier, leaving my skin feeling soft. Cons: Slow Results: While it slightly reduced some blemishes, it took weeks to see any noticeable improvement. It’s not ideal if you’re looking for faster results. Not Effective for Severe Acne: This product seems to work better for mild breakouts, but it didn’t do much for larger or more stubborn pimples. Price vs. Performance: For the cost, I expected better results. There are other products with similar ingredients at a lower price point. Final Thoughts: The CeraVe Acne Control Gel is a decent option if you have mild acne or want a gentle treatment to prevent breakouts. However, if you’re dealing with more persistent or severe acne, this may not be strong enough on its own. It’s good but not exceptional.

I’ve tried so many acne products over the years, and this CeraVe Acne Gel is one of the only ones that actually worked without wrecking my skin. The formula is lightweight, absorbs quickly, and doesn’t leave any sticky residue. I love that it has salicylic acid and the CeraVe ceramides, so it treats breakouts while still keeping my skin barrier happy.
