SMA Female to 3.5mm Mono 1/8" TS Stereo Plug Adapter Antenna Extension Cable 12 inches

I have a Tecsun PL-330 shortwave radio that has a 3.5mm antenna port and I wanted to connect my MLA-30 loop antenna to it. This adapter cable was a perfect fit. I highly recommend it.

I could not see the internals of the crimped SO239 female connector, but the 3.5mm male was well soldered, then covered with shrink-wrap tubing, then again covered by a clear plastic tube. Nicely done!

I use this cable to test part of a radio system. It allows me to easily see an audio frequency output on my oscilloscope.

This review is for the "SMA Female to 3.5mm Mono 1/8" TS Stereo Plug Adapter Antenna Extension Cable 12 inches". I've had this adapter cable for a few years and use it quite a bit. It works, but it has some issues. The most annoying problem is kind of strange - the 3.5mm plug sleeve is just hair skinnier than other 3.5mm plugs I've used. As a result, it doesn't always stay plugged in securely, so I often have to make sure it's not going to move around much while being used. The other issue is that the way the 3.5mm plug was connected to the coax is not the best. The solder job is a bit sloppy and could definitely become a short at some point, so I'll likely need to fix that soon. Other than those two problems, the cable works fine. If you buy one, give it a good inspection and test in case you nee to return it.

I use an MLA-30+ loop antenna that's terminated in an SMA connector, and I have several portable radios whose antenna jack takes an 1/8" stereo phone plug (Tecsun PL-330/PL-660 and Eton Elite Executive). This little adapter cable simply connects them and does exactly what I need.

Has to come from the USA, so takes several weeks to arrive
