Just recently purchased this gem and I can only agree with the previous reviews. Are you the kind of guy who always carries a pocket knife? Like a small one that fits easily into your pocket yet tough enough to do more than open boxes and cut string? Then this may be the perfect choice for you. Takes up about as much room and weight as your car keys, much smaller than a cell phone and light weight. Thick blade on top and designed to hold easily and bear down on it without slipping. I have carried various pocket knives over the past 20 years and this one is without a doubt the winner. It is made in China, as stamped on the underside of the tang, but don't let that fool you into thinking cheap. This is superb quality and crafted with precision. And finally, it's a beautiful looking knife too. Now about the leather sheath. I happen to like it. At least with mine the fit is perfect, nice and snug so no worries the knife will slide out. It is a bit thick but you need that protection especially if you like your knives razor sharp. Again, the whole knife and sheath set up is light and small enough to easily carry in your pocket. I have never been a fan of carrying a knife on my belt for everyday use so this really is a trick setup for me. This is not the knife I would carry camping and out on the trail, but that is not what I bought it for. Perfect for a daily carry that is small profile, light and hands down beats out similar size folders. I just may buy another for a spare!

The knife itself is very nice, the sheath is leather with a belt loop, no real way to carry this on a chain around your neck which is what I led to believe, in all a nice knife

Great fixed blade! Absolutely awful sheath.

Fist of all, Amazon is advertising these knives incorrectly. They are 440c stainless and stamped as such. The Amazon description is incorrect. I would return the knives in this family that I've ordered but I like them just enough to keep them as I am a collecter. This knife in particular for being the supposed "top of the line" gnome is quite disappointing in the blade steel and fit and finish. Everything is slightly uneven and doesn't quite fit. The leather sheath that comes with this stag gnome is useless. It works with the kydex that comes with the lesser micarta handled gnome. The pins are very sloppily done. I have the same style of floral pin on my CRKT hunt n' fisch and they are lovely. The ones on this gnome are sloppy and rough. Overall, I would not recommend that anyone purchase this knife as is for the current asking price. Not sure if it shows in the photo but the difference in the pins is incredible. I will also add that the leather lanyard that it comes with is already showing signs of wear and I'm guessing it will rot off soon. Oh well, it looks nice in the box and it will stay in my collection. But Amazon should be aware that they are falsely advertising this as having sandvik steel. Not so
