This stunning Christmas fairy door is a great way to let Santa and his elf in if you have no fire or chimney in your home. You must remember though that while this door is full of whimsy only Santas helpers or elves can open it with some Christmas magic. This beautiful xmas door has some holly to give it that extra whimsical, magical feel. When I was a little girl my Gran told me that one single tree in the middle of a field or grassy area was actually a fairy tree. Farmers or builders would never cut this tree down as it was bad luck. Each one would have had a fairy door fixed to the bottom. She would tell my cousins and I that it was a magic fairy door and only the fairies that lived in there could open the door. She said that if you put little gifts at the door the fairies would know they were welcome and safe to play and live there. We would put pennies and flowers at the door or anything shiny, as fairies love shiny things, then we would come back later and some or all of it would have vanished. We thought we were so special because WE had fairies!!! I forgot all about Grans fairy door stories until I saw one in a forest. I thought I can make that. Then lots of families can have special moments just like we did.
