Q: Are these neodymium magnets?

Yes, and they are safety tested using the official testing method to comply with the United States CPSC part 16 (The magnetic flux field strength is under 12kg2mm2 which is well below the requirement of 50kg2mm2). First and foremost, they strictly adhere to Amazon's magnet policy.

Q: will they stick to stainless steel?

The answer is it depends. Magnets are not attracted to grades of stainless steel that are austenitic (304, 316, etc), therefore these will not work with those types of steel. Magnets are attracted to grades of stainless steel that are martensitic or ferritic (410, 420, 430, 15-5, etc) therefore these will work with those types of steel. I would think that most refrigerators use the less expensive martensitic steels, so these should be good to use for a stainless fridge, but potentially not good for other stainless objects.

Q: Would these magnets hold a laminated sheet of paper on a whiteboard?

I use these in my classroom and they hold well. You’d probably need to use two of these magnets to hold a laminated sheet firmly.

Q: Do you know what the pull force is? Do these work on a magnetic painted wall?

Is the wall magnetic? Or is the paint magnetic? If the paint is magnetic, no, it won't work. If the wall is magnetic, but the paint is too thick it won't work well. it does, however work on a factory painted item like a referigerator or a car fender. The pull force is .0028 G's.
