It works as advertised! The Bratty Woodpecker is gone! I can sleep late again.
Effectively banished a Red-Bellied Woodpecker from drumming every morning on our aluminum rain gutters at 6:40 AM. The pesky woodpecker "drumming" his territory on my home has been defeated. After 11 days of being awakened by the loud "rat-tat-ta"t, the pesky varmint has been banished by using this non-violent tape. I can say the tape is nicely manufactured, quite thick, and it is extremely reflective - creating flashing brilliant prism-strikes of blinding color as it waves in the wind. On windy days I discovered that I had to place a weight on the lowest end to keep the ribbon tape from ending up in the gutter. I suggest you do the same to avoid clogged rain gutters and yet still preserve the deterrent value. Leaving the weight in place does not reduce the deterrent ability on calm days. With the weights left in place it still works. Will the tape remain durable to harsh SW Florida elements? Will it become a less effective deterrent overtime? I will re-post as the answers to these questions as the results become revealed. For now this Bird Repellent Scare Tape it has been a Godsend. Hopefully the woodpecker has found some other home or tree on which to "drum" and sound out his territory. *(please note this tape is more of a ribbon. It has NO/ZERO adhesive ability. You tie it to the area you are concerned about. No one should post comments on its adhesion, although the feedback review system on Amazon requests that reviewers post a response concerning the item's adhesive properties.)

Not at all as described
I bought a very similar tape from Amazon a year ago (it had a different name), after it showed how to attach strips of the ribbon to my grandson's swingset, which the birds target mercilessly, making it unusable unless cleaned at length every time. The ribbon seemed fine at first, but over time it ripped up into small pieces and my granddaughter had to do a lot of work that shouldn't have been necessary to clean up their yard and also their neighbors' yard, which isn't even that close. That product was total crap. This year I found what looked like a different tape - the pattern on it was enough different and the name was different. And the info said it should stay in place for several years. And it was more money for a smaller roll, so I was fooled into thinking it would be better. But it is IDENTICAL to the stuff I bought from you last year - it's not even a little bit thicker or stronger. It rips easily and I'm sure will do the same thing, so we're not putting it on the swingset. So now I'm stuck with an almost complete roll from this year, plus quite a bit of the roll from last year, and am out my money. The way it is advertised to use it, it would naturally have some wind blowing, and that's all it takes to rip this stuff up. I should ask for my money back but don't have the packaging or sticker to use. NOT HAPPY!

It Works!!
I bought this in hopes to stop the birds from attacking their reflections at 6 am every morning. We had one stubborn guy in particular that decided the handsome bird in the window was too much a threat to his girlfriend, and would spend hours flying at...himself I was worried he’d get hurt or worse, so I started researching different repellents. Foil in the tree, little round shiny ornaments meant to look like eyes and startle then away, even a toy snake on his favorite branch of choice. Nothing worked, and he kept exhausting himself. I bought this tape, received it the next day, and hung it up on my windows. I didn’t really know how much was just enough, so I followed the pattern of the window grids. Then I waited. He came up to the tree, started huffing and puffing, and then went for the window. And I kid you not, stopped dead in midair. He turned around, flew away as fast as his tail feathers allowed, and hasn’t been back since. I’d call that a rapid success! I’ve left the tape up and we haven’t had any crash and burns since. It’s stayed on the windows through rain, hail, and even a near miss with a tornado. I hung it with duct tape though, since the reflective tape itself isn’t adhesive. That’s my one complaint, I guess...I wish it was self adhesive. But I digress. It works, it’s durable, and it’s a simple and not overly distracting solution.
