These have been great for both me and my daughter! I don't know how well they would work with braces or orthodontic appliances, but I can tell you how they worked for us since neither of us have braces. The most important thing I want to express here is how much these helped my disabled child. She is autistic and struggles with tasks that require a high level of manual dexterity (buttoning buttons, grasping small objects etc.), so being able to effectively manipulate a small, thin piece of floss was not only next-to impossible, but very frustrating for her as well. Dental picks were an improvement, but the fixed nature of the floss makes it hard to get the floss curved in the "C" shape that the dentist recommends. The Gum Chucks fix all of that! The simple sticks act as a handle for you to place the floss more precisely without something akin to threading a needle! You can easily wrap the floss in a "C" shape, covering more area in less time! My kiddos teeth can get flossed before she gets frustrated and gives up and she feels accomplished! They are also hygienic as well. When you have finished flossing you simply press the button at the end of the stick and toss it! As for myself, I really appreciate not having to put my fingers in my mouth--definitely cleaner and not messy at all. This product has a number of applications: Anyone with dexterity issues, those recovering from surgery on hands or fingers, neurological disorders such as tremors or Parkinson's, people with severe vision issues or anyone just wanting to find a way to maintain their oral health in an easier and effective way! I highly recommend this product to anyone, but I think it will be most appreciated to those with a physical hindrance who struggle with flossing. Best flossers yet!

I’ve been using Gum Chucks for YEARS and I will continue to as long as they exist! No more wasting yards of floss and wrapping it around your fingers just to get a good grip!! Gum Chucks make flossing so much easier because, you have complete control of the little piece of floss with the help of the chucks! I don’t even have to look in a mirror when I floss! My son was told at his last check-up that he needed to floss better so I got him a pair of Gum Chucks and now he’s flossing every day just because, this tedious but, very necessary task is so much easier for him to do. I’ve had my Gum Chucks for probably 10+ years and I just replace the floss piece which lasts me months with just rinsing it off after each use. To replace the floss you simply push on the bottom of the gum chuck (grey tip) and it pops off.

Just like all floss. This should not be re-used, for hygienic reasons. Also on the packaging it says, one time use per floss piece. Hopefully that clears up some questions. I have used these a total of only four times so far. I really like the design of these. In my opinion, I think it is much easier to floss the correct way. It makes the "C" rotation around your teeth easy by having handles. This product is almost perfect, that's why I am giving it 4 stars. It frays almost halfway through flossing your teeth. Which isn't a big deal. If you think about traditional flossing. You take a large piece of floss and you shift using multiple parts of the floss. Where, here you only have a little piece of floss to use over and over in your mouth. So it makes perfect sense that it is going to fray. I still think its worth the purchase and enjoy the nice clean feel. I recommend getting the refill along with it. Since you are suppose to dispose of them after a single use.

Have a kids that won't floss? These things are great! My kid treats floating more as a play session than a task. The are super easy for smaller hands to use and do the job that they were made for very well.

Super solid and easy for son to put together and use. The down fall occurs when taking these apart. I have to use tweezers to leverage the floss attachment out of the base. It usually takes a good 1 to 2 minutes before they pop off.

Ode to the GumChucks I like to eat the sweets and the cakes and chocolate too, I drink coke in my whiskey so I need a little tool. I keep my dentist happy and use them every day, coz no one wants to see me with a mouth full of decay xx

Je ne connaissais pas, je suis tombée dessus en cherchant des flossers..... J'ai voulu tester, et bam! ! Adopté ! ! J'aime le concept et le côté pratique pour moi qui déteste mettre les doigts dans ma bouche pour triturer du fil. Avec ça plus de problème
