LOVED THIS STORY - SHAME I FELT IT BECAME UNBELIEVABLE
I loved this story, John the grieving Duke, who's sister approaches an orphanage and hires Laura who has been an orphan there and is a teacher and cares for the 13 girls . Laura and eight year old Eloise go to stay at the Dukes for a few month's, LOTS happen, he falls in love with Laura she does him. He wants to adopt Eloise and marry Laura, John adopts Eloise but Laura says no to marriage as she wants to return to the other 12 Girl's to care for them. THAT'S WHEN I BECOME A LITTLE DISAPPOINTED , TOO FAR FETCHED

Unusual story
I liked the concept of this story but was not totally enamoured by the book. I think this series is not for me.

Great
I found this a really good book. The Duke had lost both his wife and child during childbirth and he found life difficult since then. His sister tried hard to help him but nothing seemed to work until she decided to bring home Eloise to their home for 6 months along with Miss Smith from the orphanage to care for her. Can they both bring John out of his despondency.

An endearing story
This was an endearing story concerning Laura Smith and the Duke of Royston. Laura was a selfless woman who, having been an orphan herself, knew the trials of the girls living in the orphanage that she worked in. She was kind and compassionate but not afraid to speak her mind when in the defence of others. The duke was in a dark place since the death of his wife and child. His sister, Lady Alice, had an idea to help him that involved Laura. There follows a growing interest between Laura and Royston but would anything come of it due to their different stations in life. This is a sweet romance with an unusual solution to their problems. I received a copy via Booksprout and have voluntarily reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A delightful read!
This is book 3 of The Smithfield Market Series and I think I loved this one the best so far. They are all good but this one caught me and I couldn't put it down. This is not set in the same orphanage as the previous books but in a nearby orphanage for girls that are less privileged and do not have benefactors.Lady A is worried as her brother, Lord Royston is not moving on from his grief at losing his wife and unborn child. In a last ditch attempt, to snap Royston out of his depression, she 'employs' an orphan and Miss Smith as companions to bring some life into their home. They end up bringing so much more!A truly delightful story!I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
