All the metal on this wringer except the roller shafts are coated with a very durable E-coat. As with all non stainless wringers the roller shafts are non coated and will develop surface rust rapidly and is of no concern. Q: Will this clip onto a kitchen sink, on the dividing wall between the two basins?

Yes it will just need to place plastic tape on contact points so to keep from pulling off as you turn the handle. I have had other brands but this is the best one so far

Q: Rollers have a black coating that transfers to everything it touches that I cannot remove. Anyone have this problem?

I had this problem develop after a few months of use. I scrubbed the rollers in the bathtub and it did not get better. I put the wringer away for the winter and took it out again and it was still a problem and I scrubbed again, but it was endless. I wrote to the company and they wrote back immediately and they said scrub the rollers with a "scotch brite type pad," saying "we have never had an issue that this didn't fix." They said to write back if it didn't work. I did try again, and it didn't work. I wrote back and got no reply. I asked for a return label to send it back to them and got no reply. I just put it out into the alley for the scrap metal people to pick up.

Q: is the water tray metal or plastic?

The water tray is plastic. I use my wringer a lot as I go to a lot of car shows and it yet has not left my chamois soggy. It can be mounted on just about anything, preferably something stable. I'm happy I purchased mine and you will be to
