I am 71, hair is shoulder length, white/gray, fine and a little thin. I've been using hair growth products that work. The medium sized brush no longer worked as my hair grew. Hence purchasing the larger brush. It works beautifully. It is easy to hold with my arthritic hands. It works great to help give my hair body along with other products. I had a similar brush in size many years ago, but it was no comparison to this one. The hair glides through the bristles and does not get pulled and dries before my arms wear out. I enjoy using the brush, instead of cursing it. (smile.)

I usually don't write reviews, but after searching for a round brush for almost 2.5 hours, I ended up getting this brush in 2 1/8" barrel size. There were only 4 reviews--2 that say it was terrible and 2 that said it was great! I took a chance even with such mixed reviews and figured it was my duty to come back and write a fuller description of the brush. I've been using it now for over a month, and I really love this brush! What I like about it: - Effective: Paired with my professional grade hair dryer, the brush heats up very quickly and can make my hair bouncy and light with gentle curvature, which is quite a feat for my very straight and heavy asian hair. People at work started commenting how nice my hair looked immediately after I started using this brush! It worked so well I bought the bigger 2 3/4" for my friend who has very thick wavy hair that she wants to straighten. She was amazed how straight she was able to get her hair in very little time. - Soft handle: The ergonomic handle is a little "grippier" than my last brush, which makes the rolling action a bit easier. - Sectioning pick: I was surprised how much I use this thing! When I bought it, I thought it would be totally useless, but it turns out that I use it every time. It's helpful to make sure I get the right amount of hair on the brush. (see below about pulling hair) - Fun! I know this sounds silly but I really look forward to doing my hair now! I used to just do as little as possible to look decent before heading out the door, but now I have fun trying out different ways to use the brush to style my hair differently. I've never used youtube tutorials so much! Addressing concerns I read in other brush reviews: - Melting bristles: These bristles haven't come anywhere near melting in the month I've owned it. I use my dryer on high heat and the brush holds up just fine. - Burns from metal cap: I have read that other brushes have burned people when the cap heats up, sometimes leaving scars. The top of this brush is vented so it doesn't get very hot. I have put my hand on it right after using it, and while it's certainly warm, it's not hot enough to sear anyone. - Pulling hair: Unfortunately, it does pull your hair sometimes in the joint between the handle and the bottom of the brush head. This only happens when you overload the brush with too much hair. In the case of this brush you should only put about 2" width of hair (same as barrel width), but when I'm in a hurry, I scoop up a bunch of hair and rush through the drying process. That's usually when I'll get a few strands caught in there. I'm guessing that only a brush that's made of one piece can avoid this phenomenon. Here's Olivia Garden's product video for the HeatPro brush, which I found helpful when deciding whether to buy this brush or not: [...]

I just replaced this exact brush after 15 (?) years. The brand was almost wore off and I couldn’t remember but luckily could make out Heat Pro! It’s light weight, easy to maneuver and the 2 3/4 is perfect size. The bristles are different than others - Better - and the right length.. my hair always feels so after I blow dry w this brush!
